Thanks. --MZMcBride (talk) 06:30, 9 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Swanny?! Are you sure? I hadn't heard that nickname for him before. I would think one would have needed to be either very brave or a very close friend to have used it. I had always thought that "Jim" was pretty much universal. JH (talk page) 19:00, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. My guess is that perhaps he was called that long ago, in his days of playing for Middlesex. JH (talk page) 19:10, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the infobox. It's a big improvement to the article. I see that you have used the Cricinfo figures, whereas the body of the article uses CricketArchive's figures. They agree on his batting figures, but CricketArchive credits him with 2 extra wickets, one more 5WI and one more 10WM. It doesn't affect his bowling average. We ought to use the same site's figures throughout, perhaps with a note about the discrepancy. Personally, I tend to have greater faith in CricketArchive, but if you would prefer Cricinfo then I won't object. JH (talk page) 17:43, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Daan van Bunge[edit]

Hey there, nice work with the infobox for Daan van Bunge's page. I tried to change it earlier the same day but couldn't make it work. Cheers Chodaboy57 (talk) 21:22, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Andy Hess/Ken Bates quote[edit]

Do you happen to have the specific page within the book......? ChrisTheDude (talk) 21:07, 26 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the infobox. :) JH (talk page) 16:41, 12 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

C. H. B. Marsham[edit]

A good question for the quiz:

  • What was the weather like when this guy was born?

There was a tradition among the Sioux and the Cheyenne that a baby should be given a name based on the first thing his mother saw when she looked out of the tepee. Hence, a s(h)itting bull or a crazy horse. Marsham must have been born when it was a bit overcast, I think. In other words, he was born in England.

More to the point, good work. BlackJack | talk page 21:24, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

1999 play-off final[edit]

That's fantastic, cheers!!! NLB is (I think) the only Gills-related book I don't personally own (I've even got a copy of the "So You Think You're a Gills Fan?" quiz book stashed somewhere), so I didn't even realise it covered the end of the preceding season. I was able to get 2000 Football League Second Division playoff final to GA status, so I might have a stab at 1999 at some point. The main thing I have no source whatsoever for would be which players took the penalties, I dunno if the book would mention that............ -- ChrisTheDude (talk) 19:40, 30 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cheers! I was directly behind the goal at the opposite end to where the pens were being taken, and couldn't see a bloody thing! :-) -- ChrisTheDude (talk) 21:00, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I was also in a seat which the roof didn't cover - always good when it's raining :-) -- ChrisTheDude (talk) 21:08, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oxford Wikimania 2010 and Wikimedia UK v2.0 Notice[edit]

Hi,

As a regularly contributing UK Wikipedian, we were wondering if you wanted to contribute to the Oxford bid to host the 2010 Wikimania conference. Please see here for details of how to get involved, we need all the help we can get if we are to put in a compelling bid.

We are also in the process of forming a new UK Wikimedia chapter to replace the soon to be folded old one. If you are interested in helping shape our plans, showing your support or becoming a future member or board member, please head over to the Wikimedia UK v2.0 page and let us know. We plan on holding an election in the next month to find the initial board, who will oversee the process of founding the company and accepting membership applications. They will then call an AGM to formally elect a new board who after obtaining charitable status will start the fund raising, promotion and active support for the UK Wikimedian community for which the chapter is being founded.

You may also wish to attend the next London meet-up at which both of these issues will be discussed. If you can't attend this meetup, you may want to watch Wikipedia:Meetup, for updates on future meets.

We look forward to hearing from you soon, and we send our apologies for this automated intrusion onto your talk page!

Ronnie Wallwork GA review[edit]

Hi, thanks for reviewing Ronnie Wallwork for GA. I think I've addressed all your points now - please let me know what you think and if you need me to make any further tweaks. Cheers. --Jameboy (talk) 23:23, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Matt Jarvis GA review[edit]

Many thanks for that! - ChrisTheDude (talk) 11:32, 9 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the new infobox. I thought that you have made a mistake when I saw that you had his first name as "Frank", but I see that's what CricketArchive has. I had always thought it was Francis, which is what the main body of the article has. Clerarly they both should be the same, perhaps with a footnote saying that there is some uncertainty. JH (talk page) 19:57, 11 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks[edit]
