Hello, Kilgamesh. An automated process has found and removed an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that was in your userspace. The image (Image:KirbySS Great Cave Item Screen.jpg) was found at the following location: User:Kilgamesh/temp. This image or media was attempted to be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media was replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. Please find a free image or media to replace it with, and or remove the image from your userspace. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 05:31, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:NocturneInTheMoonlightMap.JPG)[edit]

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:NocturneInTheMoonlightMap.JPG. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that your image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If your image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why your image was deleted. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Stifle (talk) 21:37, 13 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

 [edit]

Is there any reason why you put this code at the end of an entry in see also section of conspiracy theory? __~~

Well, there was a mysterious semicolon trailing Beltway sniper, and rather than simply remove it, I figured it would be best to conform to the current list's formatting. All of the other links have that code appended to them, but I admittedly have no idea what it means. If it's causing some problem, please remove it. Kil 20:50, 3 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
NBSP = Non-breaking space. It adds a space, basically. For formatting purposes. Moogy (talk) 08:40, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks![edit]

I noticed you popped in and cleaned up the Metroidvania article. I just wanted to thank you, as after working on it as much as I did there were a lot of mistakes I'd missed. Cheers, Lankybugger 16:53, 14 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That page has been shaping up nicely. I'll be glad when all of the castleroid/metroidvania/metroid-style controversy is over though. Kil (talk) 17:31, 14 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
As will I... The articles are being damaged by the constant opposition. The consensus to Delete Castleroid is going quite nicely. It certainly wouldn't hurt if you were to swing that way and leave your own opinion in the discussion.Lankybugger 18:35, 14 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

PC game covers[edit]

Hi. Please do not sort anything into Category:PC game covers unless absolutely necessary. Category:Video game covers has a large collection of categories that the images should be sorted into. In addition, if the required platform does not exist, you may simply create it. Dread Lord CyberSkull ✎☠ 01:55, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I did categorize some images as PC game covers because, well, they were PC game covers. Shoud they not be? I know the majority of the covers left in the main directory are general or multi-platform covers, which is why I didn't bother with them. Is there a specific case that brought this up? Kil (talk) 02:01, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, I now see that there are such categories for Windows and DOS games, etc. I don't think this is very obvious to most people though, and I asummed the PC tag covered them... whoops. Kil (talk) 02:15, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
PC is a term that is used rather loosely to describe things. We have the personal computer and the IBM PC specification still somewhat in use today. You actually cannot play a game on a PC at all. You play a game on an OS running on computer hardware. On a side note, the talk link in your signature is broken. It is User talk:Kil instead of User talk:Kilgamesh. Dread Lord CyberSkull ✎☠ 02:36, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, fixed it. I understand that the PC category isn't ambiguous now that I know about the specific OS tags... I just didn't see them at first. My fault. Kil (talk) 02:44, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Only some existed. I made several more yesterday. If a platform is not covered, please make a category for it. Dread Lord CyberSkull ✎☠ 23:45, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: SNES Boxart[edit]

Hi AMHR,
I've been finding the boxart in various places. Sometimes ppl on Ebay put up stock photos of the boxart for their auctions, so I've found a bunch there. Thanks for the support, I'm just trying to make sure we have the best and clearest boxart for these game entries, so these things are preserved for everyone. I'm a big SNES fan and had alot of fun back when I got the system. I'm going to be looking over the other console pages in time. I really want to try and make sure every game has at least an infobox and boxart screencap. Let me know if you need anything else.

Image:Bagger288.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Bagger288.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Edward 12:35, 17 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use disputed for Image:StepmaniaPlaying GB2.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:StepmaniaPlaying GB2.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. wL<speak·check> 04:44, 29 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:BoxArtXKaliber.jpg}[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:BoxArtXKaliber.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Fair use rationale for Image:CybernatorBoxArt.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:CybernatorBoxArt.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

Proposed deletion of Eien no Filena[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Eien no Filena, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Asian 10,000 Challenge invite[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days.
