Hi, see the welcome message about and you could find important links. Mostly, you have to familiar with policies and guideline. You can try Wikipedia:Article wizard and carefully read all including links such as Wikipedia:Contributing to Wikipedia. Also, try Wikipedia:The Wikipedia Adventure. The template {{Reply to}} could help to talk with users or notify users. --AntanO 02:57, 26 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

TWA question[edit]

Hello ANthRix, you asked about The Wikipedia Adventure in the IRC help channel. I unfortunately had to leave at a moment's notice and couldn't fully answer your question. As I said there, The Wikipedia Adventure is very sensitive to what you do. The instruction in Mission 3 is to click the "Edit source" tab at the top of the page, to fix five typos, and to save the page with a specific edit summary. To me it seems you didn't edit the source; that is a known issue with The Wikipedia Adventure. If you don't have an "Edit source" tab, you can change your preferences here ("Editing mode"). Hello Huon, thanks for getting back to me. I do see an 'Edit Source' option in top horizontal layout. I tried once again referring to your version of instructions (including an edit summary) but could not get any success. Is there a way to skip that instruction/ mission? --ANthRix (talk) 12:10, 26 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Two comments on that. Firstly, you're (still) using the mw:2017 wikitext editor, a built-in feature of the Visual Editor (compare the tag of your edit). Try changing your editing preferences so that you really get the source editor. Secondly, TWA should tell you how many (and what) typos to fix and what edit summary to use. It got hung up when I used a different edit summary, and I had to re-do the mission exactly as I was told to get it right.
If that doesn't work, you can just go to WP:TWA and click on "Mission 4" to skip Mission 3 and go on; I would expect that the editor may still give you trouble at other points, though. Huon (talk) 13:24, 26 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your reply Huon. I had tried to attempt Mission 4 but TWA doesn't let you go to the next mission without completing the previous one. Also, thanks for suggesting me the solution of switching back to the older version, but the hyperlink which you had given doesn't contain the option to disable 2017 wikitext editor. It lies in beta features option. I have been able to get past this issue. Thanks for your help! --ANthRix (talk) 22:13, 27 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
