License tagging for Image:FootballHornet.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:FootballHornet.gif. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

Roswell High School[edit]

Nice job on the article. A bit more work, and I think it should be submitted for GA class review (citations and some additional pictures). You can use non-internet citations, check out Wikipedia:Citation templates for the appropriate one depending on the source (e.g. news, book etc.). It would be nice to have at least one citation per paragraph (for GA status at least). For the citations, try either {{cite book}} or {{Citation}}. Either one should work for now. I'll dig to see if I can find more reliable sources. Does the cookbook itself cite any sources that could be found and used? BTW, check out some Good Article class high schools: Category:GA-Class school articles. It'd be nice to have Roswell at that class. Also might be worth looking at the Featured High School articles as well - Category:FA-Class school articles. Thanks, I'll see if I can find a few more for the history and campus as well. For the sports section, I think you have the right plan to only highlight notable events and their correspond sports. With the idea of "Good Article" status in the future, writing the info into paragraphs rather than having a bulleted list is the preferred style (e.g. Plano Senior High School and All the sports with only one notable event could be grouped in an "Other Sports" section perhaps? Also, it would be great to cite sources for those accomplishments. The Football one should be pretty easy given the coverage this year in local papers.

Same for the clubs, I like the way Bellaire High School (Bellaire, Texas) has done their section as sentences instead of a link. What you think? --Roswell native 03:30, 25 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree about the bullets personally, but if the article is ever put up for GA Review the list sticks out like sore thumb and will be at top of the reviewers "fix list". If getting the RHS page to GA status interests you, check out Wikipedia:Good_article_candidates, especially the articles that are on hold, read the talk pages to see what changes reviewers request. I have found it very helpful (I'm working on Ty Cobb right now in fact).

How about a table like this for those teams such as football and Gymnastics that have won more than one state championship? It would have to be tailored per sport of course.

I'll try to give the article a thorough look in the next week or so. Because IMHO it just isn't of note to a broader audience. Weikipedia is not the place for schedules of high school football games or predictions about the next season. Such things just aren't encyclopedic. As far as the big issues, I went through and fixed many of them. There's probably a lot I missed so it would be great if we could collaborate to further improve the article to the GA status that it is readily approaching. Hey, I've been following the good article nomination for Roswell High School and was very happy to see it pass! None of the other articles for high schools in metro Atlanta are even remotely that good, so I'm very happy to see an Atlanta high school achieve good article status. I saw your edits to the region 6 tempalte and understand that you were just unifying the formatting of the links but as all the other region templates state the school name and the mascot do you thinkg that the region 6 should be changeed to that format. Request for assistance[edit]

Hi, I'm trying an experiment. I'm fairly active at Requests for feedback, where editors ask for feedback on draft or recently created articles. The number of requests is exceeding the ability of volunteers to respond, with many articles getting only a cursory response, while many do not yet have feedback. I see that you asked for feedback some time ago and did get a response. My experiment is to contact editors like you who did get some feedback and are still active editors, to see if you would be willing to provide feedback for one or two others.

Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

I'm also considering creating a list of editors and topics, in case a specific request comes up that could use someone with specific expertise. I believe subject has become notable enough for a stand alone article & it would be a great idea for someone in possession of a picture of the runner which is their own work (as to avoid image copyright violations) to begin the article.
