Overlinking[edit]

Hi, thanks for your work on botanical articles. Please don't link years, dates, or common terms, including the names of well-known countries. Precise locations within countries might be acceptable to link. Tony (talk) 03:29, 11 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Deleting accidental categories[edit]

Hi. FYI, if you create categories that you don't want then like your recent crocodylomorpha cats, the best option is not to blank them but to tag them with {{db-self}}. That way they'll get zapped, and it's a quicker procedure than a third party tagging them with {{db-empty}}. Cheers. Le Deluge (talk) 01:30, 13 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Year linking[edit]

Hi, thanks for your work. Please note that years (and dates and common terms) are not usually linked on en.WP. Tony (talk) 13:33, 5 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Timeline of pterosaur research[edit]

On 31 October 2016, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Timeline of pterosaur research, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that early in the history of pterosaur research, these flying Mesozoic reptiles were variously mistaken for aquatic animals, bats, birds, and even the spawn of Satan (pictured)? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Timeline of pterosaur research. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Timeline of pterosaur research), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. massive blanking of categories with no edit summaries[edit]

what was the cause of all that? It would be useful to know JarrahTree 22:49, 1 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

on a consultative basis re the fate of the empty categories - would you prefer the survivors were turned into redirects - or csd'd instead - your call, I had just csd 2x but thought, considering how the process of consultation might be more user friendly - which, in most cases as creator and ultimately emptier would you prefer? - JarrahTree 09:35, 2 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
This seems to have been your reply to the above questions.

Hello, I want to draw your attention to this edit on 16 September 2016 by User:Sam switch on the Paleontology article about the scope of the subject. Too late for the head categories... But if you can use a more specific name for the geology sub-categories, that would help. Otherwise they are liable to be merged. – Fayenatic London 22:58, 25 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
