Thank you for the welcome

It was good of you to offer the welcome. If it is not too much trouble, I could use some help. I have created a couple of pages. These pages are now gone. They now redirect to other pages that don't have my content. I understand that my contributions may get edited, or even removed; but what are the rules for this? Since the pages are gone, there is no history or discussion to read. Someone made a comment on my talk page that they thought one of my pages should be merged. I agreed with caveats, but never heard anything again. Was there a vote? Can I just recreate the pages? It seems a lot of energy is exerted by people to limit the scope of Wikipedia. Several times I have read interesting pages only to find there is a discussion about deleting the page entirely. Is this the official position of the Wikipedia, or only the result of one faction within it? Am I welcome?

deleted edits

well, a user's deleted edits are still recorded (they must be to allow the undeletion of pages later), but at the moment it's too slow to extract the information because of how it's stored.. i'll keep the idea in mind though. -kate

re: Signature

Hi, thanks for the guidance. I was aware that templates caused a server drain, but I didn't realise that all the talk pages would have to be re-cached if I changed it. I made a template out of my sig so that I could change it not to include the link to my RfA once it was no longer applicable (so that older talk messages would be updated as well), but I didn't know that just changing it would drain the servers so much. Thanks for asking the question of The Fascist Chicken - I was about to ask the same question of him/her on their talk page (I thought it inappropriate to ask it on my own RfA page). I wonder, why do the negative comments come from users with monikers like "The Fascist Chicken" and "Angr" (Anger?). This admin stuff is looking like it is more trouble than it is worth - not to do, but to get - all I really need is some tools to assist in my anti-vandal efforts. Esperanza made less bureaucratical

Hello again, I have (unilatterly) taken away the 'assembly' idea, as per my reasons at that edit summary and per Wikipedia talk:Esperanza/Charter. I have left the admin general, as some leadership is good. Now, all you have to do is be a member to establish consensus, the whole assembly idea is gone. Also, I have added an advisory committee, of four members, with limited power besides watching over the admin general and making sure he doesn't do anything stupid.
