Proposed deletion of Wabash Avenue (Baltimore)[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Wabash Avenue (Baltimore), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.

re: Wabash Avenue[edit]

Copied from User talk:Paul Erik:

Hello Mr. Erik,

Um I just had a message on my computer screen, that Wabash Avenue in Baltimore was deleted, and I don't know why, it is a main street in Northwest Baltimore. Is there something wrong with it, because I can always change it, if you want me to. Or have more information about it? I really don't think it was copyrighted. I'm just making sure, so I won't do nothing wrong, thanks bye. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Acurablake3 (talkcontribs) 18:45, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Acurablake3 and welcome. It's good to see you beginning to contribute, and I did not mean any offense in deleting your work. I deleted your first attempt at an article about Wabash Avenue after another editor had tagged it as not supplying enough context (it did not mention that it was a street in Baltimore). I see that you have tried again at Wabash Avenue (Baltimore) but that it was proposed for deletion. Might I ask you to look over Wikipedia:Your first article. One thing to keep in mind is that an article usually has to include multiple references to reliable sources to meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines for inclusion in the encyclopedia. Also, Wabash Avenue is a film that was nominated for an Oscar for Best Song at the 23rd Academy Awards in 1950, so perhaps that's a more notable topic for an article. :) Feel free to ask questions; you may get faster responses at Wikipedia:Help desk. I'll also add a "welcome to Wikipedia" template on your talk page. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 21:07, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Please note that after I initially merged it, I later improved Wabash Avenue into a more expansive article that actually details several other named streets (which are physically one long street) that Wabash Avenue leads to. There is more that can be written about these streets, such as their history. Whoever has more information, it would be appreciated if they could contribute it. Also, there are many other Wabash Avenues around the world, so if any articles are created on another Wabash Avenue, this one should be renamed to Wabash Avenue (Baltimore) (which currently redirect to this one), and "Wabash Avenue" should then be a disambiguation page. Thank you very much, I will check to see what I can do for. Yep, it is important for a license to be on the picture photo.
