Speedy deletion of US Aviation[edit]

A tag has been placed on US Aviation requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from US Flight Academy, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. I don't know where you ever got the idea that notability standards don't apply to schools, but that's nonsense. Notability standards apply to everything. It's just that different standards apply to different categories. You failed to supply references from independent, reliable sources that show why others think this company is notable. The same applies to the parent company and its other subsidiaries. If you can come up with some references from reliable sources, such as aviation magazines that write articles about this school, you can post it again. Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to List of Flight Schools. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. Do not erase warning messages placed on your talk page. They are a record for other editors and administrators to consider in regard to your future contributions. US Flight Academy[edit]

Hi there,

While I appreciate the effort you put into the newest version of this article, I have speedily-deleted is per criteria A7, which covers articles about individuals/groups/companies/etc. that do not contain a claim to notability. In this case, a quick report about a innocuous runway accident involving one of its planes does not say anything about the notability of the school itself.

I see that you are working on a number of other aviation-related articles, though--if you haven't already, I'd like to suggest that joining WikiProject Aviation might be a good way to learn a lot about working on Wikipedia while writing about something you clearly have an interest in.

It appears that articles about this school aren't going to fly (sorry, couldn't resist the pun) unless you add several references from independent, reliable sources. What I do on mine is open up my talk page, ckick on the "History" tab at the top, then click on the "Compare selected versions" button - it will automatically select the most recent change.
