License tagging for Image:Embracing Excellence Tucson High Logo.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Embracing Excellence Tucson High Logo.gif. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 10:07, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

Ironwood Ridge HS article[edit]

Hey AdamJaz

Thanks for taking the time to edit the IRHS article. The help is definitely appreciated. I have conributed significantly to the article myself, and have some questions regarding your edits. Considering the pygmy owl was the sole reason IRHS construction was delayed from 1994-2000, I believe its mentioning in the article is warranted. The pygmy owl is a definite aspect of the school's history. I'd appreciate hearing your view as to why the pygmy owl's inclusion in the article delves off-topic. Also, I'm interested to know how the article's references are indiscriminate. As you know, with multiple editors on an article, not all contributors include a reference, resulting in most articles having referenced material along side unreferenced material. If possible, please explain. I appreciate your time, and keep up the good work!

Mxpc05 20:28, 13 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Adamjaz, thanks for getting back to me. I have a few comments on your reply. First, the school history section has 9 references, 5 of which are from the Udall Center. The other 4 are from two different sources. In the scheme of Wikipedia, this appears to be well-referenced and not indiscriminate.

To your second point: the school only opened in 2001, so aside from the very unique circumstances of its construction, not much else is notable at this point regarding the history. The court case concerning the construction of the school went all the way to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, a highly noteworthy element of any school's creation. At the center of this court case was the issue of the pygmy owl. I agree that more information should be added to the school history section, but at this point in time, considering the school's tender age of 6, there's only so much history available.

I tend to disagree with the tags you've added to the page, but I am more than willing to hear your feedback regarding my concerns with them. Thanks again for your time, and let me know!

Mxpc05 00:59, 14 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Again, thanks for getting back to me. I don't take your tags personally at all...I've been at the Wikipedia game for a while now, and it's impossible to take it personally at this point. While I continue to disagree with the tags, I agree with retaining them in the article for now. The article can of course be continually improved in the ways you have mentioned. However, to be clear, of the 9 citations in the school history section, 5 are from the Udall Center, 3 refer DIRECTLY to the actual COURT DECISION, and the final one is a law review article that of course MUST cite DIRECTLY to the actual court decision. In my opinion and experience, this is adequate citation. Far more other articles on Wikipedia need much more help than the above citations to which I just referred. It is my view that as IRHS progresses, actual history will be added by editors, rather than attempting to contrive history right now. Again, I appreciate your edits and your time responding. I just wanted to try to get us on the same page. Happy Wikipedia-ing!

Fair use disputed for Image:IRHS Logo.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:IRHS Logo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 18:32, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Catalina Foothills High School Logo.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Catalina Foothills High School Logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 14:33, 28 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Template:User:AdamJaz/ut[edit]

A tag has been placed on Template:User:AdamJaz/ut requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 20:27, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

New "Genocide against Palestinians" article fraught with New Antisemitism[edit]

Hi, there a Wikipedia page was created today, titled Genocide against Palestinians. This article is fraught with New Antisemetic tropes and blatant demonization of Israel. Please help me address this issue by editing the article, and asking those who you know to do the same. Existing Wikipedia articles that can be useful include the one on New Antisemitism I linked earlier, as well as the articles on Antizionism, Antisemitic trope and antisemitism. Together we can combat this. עם ישראל חי! Your help is very much needed and appreciated. IshChasidecha (talk) 00:10, 13 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
