Fair use rationale for Image:Clackamascampuses.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Clackamascampuses.jpg. The image description page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

so weird and Cara Delizia[edit]

The "free image" graphic was unsightly which was why I removed it. Very few if any "free" images exist of miss Delizia so that template would be up for a very long time. I'm sure if anyone has a free image they'll add it without the added prompting.

As for the move, standard procedure if you can't move it directly using the "move" command, which I gather was the issue you had, is to got to WP:RM and request the move. Cut and paste moves for anything but merging aren't allowed on Wikipedia. Also I'd suggest this method anyway considering that the move from "so weird" to "So Weird" may be considered controversial as there is evidence for both versions of the title. Gateman1997 04:01, 11 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It may be. Someone else obviously felt it belonged at "so weird" and moved it in Feb. if I'm not mistaken. Also I would note that several fan sites and the shows own opening credits do use the completely lowercase name. This is not unheard of in the entertainment industry. First example that pops to mind is of course "iPod". I think a vote may be appropriate after a RM nomination. Gateman1997 04:20, 11 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

So Weird redirect[edit]

Hi. I have no objection to this change, but your redirect seems to redirect to itself instead of the So Weird version of the article. Also, the So Weird talk page is a redirect to the So weird one. Is that what you intended? You may want to check that it's all correct, because it definitely seems wonky to me. (I almost never attempt redirects myself for precisely this reason.) Thanks. -- Karen | Talk | contribs 00:27, 11 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I was aware of the main redirect problem, but Wikipedia was temporarily disallowing new edits so that it could "catch up" or something. However, the talk page issue hadn't even occurred to me. Thanks for bringing it up! I'll go fix that now. --Adam the Alien 01:27, 11 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cara DeLizia[edit]

You're claiming that the middle of the name capitalization disrupts the alphabetical order but I'm not seeing any evidence of that in the listing. The name is in its correct alphabetical place with or without the capitalization. Gateman1997 22:26, 1 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

When I noticed the de-captilization of the L in the category boxes, I was tempted to change it back. First, though, I checked out Stemonitis. The user has been going through, changing the category boxes of dozens or more similar names. Examining the user's "talk" page, I found this explanation: User talk:Stemonitis/Archive07#Mac. - Adam the Alien 22:53, 1 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image:HollowayJYF.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:HollowayJYF.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Oden 19:21, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:HollowayJYF.jpg[edit]

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:HollowayJYF.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. When you use a generic fair use tag such as {{fair use}} or {{fair use in|article name}}, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Image copyright problem with Image:Welcomeclack.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Welcomeclack.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sherool (talk) 19:56, 20 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Justyellfirecover.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Justyellfirecover.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast (talk) 13:28, 5 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Takingthefall.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Takingthefall.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Per wikipedia guidelines the author does not meet the standards for having a wikipedia page about him. Therefore I feel this article is subject for deletion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.85.177.73 (talk) 22:43, 18 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
