Continuing our discussion[edit]

Hi Adelphious. I repeatedly asked you for more examples of the problems you see. You haven't given any. I just want to indicate at this point that I'd still like to see such examples. Alternatively, examples of others addressing similar situations in a manner that you find to be commendable.

I appreciate your dialing back your characterization of the "temperature" of the dispute.

I am a bit concerned that you may be putting aside the requirements that BLP puts on editors, but then you're not really focusing on the content. I find it best to focus on content, and wish there were stronger general consensus for editors to do so.

When addressing editors behavior, I think it be to keep WP:BATTLE, WP:NOTCOMPULSORY, and WP:AGF in mind at all times. It's easy to stir up situations, difficult to deescalate them.

As I said, "I'm not here for popcorn." If there are behavioral problems that need to be discussed, clarity and deescalation are my goals. What are yours? --Ronz (talk) 15:08, 19 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Reviewing my posts on your talk page I see that I gave two specific examples of problems, that I repeated the second example twice, and that I drew attention to a third perceived tendency, in each case referring to the specific Wikipedia policy or guideline contravened. I'm in earnest and haven't minced words, but it's totally reasonable for you to ask that I clarify them. Let's continue on your talk page, where we started. I'm sorry, but I think we're done. Whatever your goals may be, I'm not finding this discussion helpful. It's easy to stir up situations, difficult to deescalate them. --Ronz (talk) 21:24, 19 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

General sanctions alert[edit]

Please read this notice carefully.

You are receiving this notice because you recently edited one or more pages relating to blockchain or cryptocurrencies topics. You have not done anything wrong. We just want to alert you that "general" sanctions are authorized for certain types of edits to those pages.

A community decision has authorized the use of general sanctions for pages related to blockchain and cryptocurrencies. The details of these sanctions are described here. All pages that are broadly related to these topics are subject to a one revert per twenty-four hours restriction, as described here.

General sanctions is a system of conduct regulation designed to minimise disruption in controversial topic areas. This means uninvolved administrators can impose sanctions for edits relating to these topics that do not adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, our standards of behaviour, or relevant policies. Administrators may impose sanctions such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks. An editor can only be sanctioned after the editor has been made aware that general sanctions are in effect. It is only effective if it is logged here. Before continuing to edit pages in these topic areas, please familiarise yourself with the general sanctions system. Don't hesitate to contact me or another editor if you have any questions.
