While I have known Alice Di Micele since we were teens, I have not seen her in person since that time. The only edits I did to her preexisting page were minor good faith edits to the spelling of her name, correcting the length of time she has spent touring, and to add new albums that she released since the last time her page was edited. The fact that I do know her in the real world is why I refrained from joining the debate regarding notability and the potential deletion of her page. A quick glace at my edit history will show these statements to be true.

As I have said on my User Page, I stick to spelling, grammar, and math based edits of the sort that are supposed to be uncontroversial. I am glad that it appears her page has been given a reprieve and I appreciate all the work that you and other more experienced editors have put in to bring her page up to Wikipedia's high standards. If I can be of further help to you in your ongoing edits of Alice's page please feel free to let me know and I will be happy to assist in any way I can.

I added the above information not because you did anything wrong, but rather for reference purposes since you identified yourself as being a friend of Di Micele in a talk page post and she subsequently posted something similar as well. Wikipedia policy doesn't expressly prohibit users from editing articles to which they may have a WP:POTENTIALCOI, but it does highly discourage it. As long as your adhere to relevant policies and guidelines you should be fine, but a big part of the Wikipedia community is quite suspicious of such editing and doesn't think it should at all; so, just keep that in mind moving forward and follow WP:COIADVICE whenever possible. For future reference, article subjects have pretty much zero editorial control over Wikipedia content written about them or it as explained in WP:OWN. Living persons who have issues with Wikipedia content written about them do have a way to seek assistance as explained in WP:BLPSELF, but in most cases directly editing of the article by its subject (or person representing or acting on behalf of the subject) is not really encouraged. Reaching out to the subject of an article to inform them of potential issues is OK, but the subject will then need to try and resolve things in accordance with relevant policies and guidelines. In other words, there are very few cases in which the subject of Wikipedia content is able to "fix" any problems associated with the content themselves or itself. Many attempts at doing so actually end up making things worse than better, and sometimes may even lead to accounts being formally warned or even blocked. If faced with an article naming problem like this in the future, the first place to start would probably be at WP:COMMONNAME. Then, if you feel a title change is still warranted, it's best to follow the guidance given in WP:PAGEMOVE. -- Marchjuly (talk) 21:36, 17 October 2022 (UTC)
