Notability of Jacob galan[edit]

A tag has been placed on Jacob galan requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Wuhwuzdat (talk) 17:19, 13 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Take a look at the welcome page. To stay in Wikipedia, an article has to be about something notable, that is, of general interest. Click on Notability for an explanation of what that means, and on Notability (people) for more detail. Also, it must give independently verifiable sources. Articles that don't meet these requirements are likely to be deleted.

I have removed the speedy-deletion tag from this article, because an internet search suggests that he is notable enough for an article. However, if the article is to stay it needs to be expanded to give more detail, and it needs to cite references. Please read the links in the Welcome paragraph above for more advice on how to improve the article; the guide to writing Your First Article is a good starting point. I have put "unreferenced" and "expand" maintenance tags on the article, which may encourage other editors to come and help. Also, I have removed the word "awesome", which is a "peacock term" not appropriate for an encyclopedia article. Regards, JohnCD (talk)

Blanking a page is not the correct way to get a page deleted. What is the incorrect information? When we know what the issues are we can fix them. Feel free to reply here, I'll watch this page. §hepTalk 03:25, 19 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hi there. A bot appears to have noticed your incomplete deletion request (instructions here, see also our deletion policy) and listed everything. I did not notice you were the author of the page, if you ever want to delete an article you created; and no one else has contributed content it can be speedily deleted under G7. You could have tagged the article with {{db-author}} or {{db-g7}}. It is acceptable to blank the page, but do to vandalism it is usually reverted by a bot or editor. Now that and Afd has opened it will take community consensus to delete the article. It currently looks like the article will snowball delete though, so I wouldn't worry about it. You might want to watch the deletion page to keep track of the outcome in any case. If you have any more questions now or in the future feel free to drop by my Talk: page.
P.S. When leaving new messages for users you can click the New section tab on the top of the page, new messages should go on the botom of any discussion page. This page might be helpful. §hepTalk 00:49, 20 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
