Your recent edits[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 21:46, 21 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nairaland[edit]

There is no requirement on needing an American source. I suggest you try Deletion Review and maybe someone will restore the page. --Σ talkcontribs 03:08, 22 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have restored the page. The deletion was clearly in error. I have no strong opinion on whether Nairaland is important enough to be in Wikipedia, but I do know that the speedy deletion was in error.--Jimbo Wales (talk) 09:09, 22 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
... and as I stated on my talkpage, I'm always open do reviewing the decision based on polite discussion, and my reasoning is on my talkpage - yes, I would have been willing to undelete. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 10:20, 22 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Call for Wikipedians in Residence in Africa[edit]

Hello,

I hope you are well and thriving!! WikiAfrica has just put out a call for two Wikipedians in Residence. One in Cape Town at WikiAfrica, at the Africa Centre; and the other for WikiAfrica Cameroon in Douala, at doual’art. If you are interested, please contact either Marilyn [marilyn.doualabell@doualart.org] for the WikiAfrica Cameroon call or Isla [islahf@africacentre.net] for the WikiAfrica position in Cape Town.

If you are not interested in applying, I would be very grateful if you could spread this call far and wide among your networks to ensure that both projects get excellent candidates. Here is the link for the information page: http://www.wikiafrica.net/two-wikipedians-in-residence-for-africa/

Best regards, Islahaddow

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
