Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:

Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! Notice[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in complementary and alternative medicine. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

February 2022[edit]

Information icon Hi AknolIikiW! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of Craniosacral therapy several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:Craniosacral therapy, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. Alexbrn (talk) 11:01, 7 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Alex, thank you for your input and advice. I think I know what you mean. I've tried to edit small parts so I could explain why I did so. I don't know what to do. I'm not a (craniosacral) therapist, but CST helped me a lot with my tinnitus. Imo the article is poorly written. It uses non-scientific sources to support scientific sources. The non-scientific sources are quoted in the article and my problem with it is that it is very negative and judgemental. For example: A whole "profession" is being accused of claiming Craniosacral therapy can cure cancer, but in reality it's something that a few individuals may have claimed. The introduction tot CST is to long, the sections below repeat the same information again and again. It's a waterfall of words. I agree it should be about the facts and imo not about the way you'd like to frame it. Neutral facts. Would you take a look at it, as an experienced editor?
With kind regards, AknolIikiW (talk) 12:08, 7 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You'd need to make any suggestions at Talk:Craniosacral therapy, but be aware that Wikipedia has specific guidance for WP:FRINGE topics such as CST. Alexbrn (talk) 12:30, 7 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
AknolIikiW, I came here to warn you against edit warring, but see that others are already here. No matter how right you might be, you can get blocked for it, and your block log can never be purged of that information. It will haunt you. Try to keep a clean block log. You have several experienced editors reverting your edits and explaining their reasons in edit summaries, yet you persisted in trying to force your version. Don't do that. You should follow WP:BRD in such situations. Whenever you meet resistance, don't continue your efforts. Instead, start a discussion about the edit on the article's talk page and seek a consensus.
The WP:Lead is supposed to be based on what's in the body of the article, IOW it repeats content. Criticism should not be removed, diluted, or neutered. Per WP:Parity of sources, non-scientific sources are allowed, especially for a WP:Fringe subject like this. Top-quality medical and scientific sources rarely bother with commenting on quackery and pseudoscientific BS, but other sources do, so we also use them.
You're dealing with a controversial topic area, and as a newbie here you should probably spend more time with less controversial topics in the beginning so you learn how things work here and what our WP:PAG are all about. -- Valjean (talk) 15:46, 7 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I see you deleted my message with a hostile edsum. I'm not hostile, I'm a really nice chap, honest, ask anybody ;) -Roxy the grumpy dog. wooF 15:54, 17 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Edit conflicts[edit]

Hello, there seemed to have been an edit conflict with your and my edit at Depp v. Heard that reverted my edits altogether. I assume this was by accident, so I went ahead and reinstated my edits. Whenever you're alerted in the editing window that an edit conflict has occurred, please don't ignore it and resolve it manually. Thank you. Throast (talk | contribs) 14:29, 17 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, so you've done it again. Since this can't possibly be an edit conflict, please explain to me why you keep reverting my edits without addressing them in your edit summaries. If you disagree with my edits, talk to me; please do not edit war. Throast (talk | contribs) 14:42, 17 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Throast, Sorry, I just now see your message and I wasn't aware of any conflict. I'm editing on my cell, maybe that's why? I'll be sure to check the history page for simultaneous editing in the future. Again my apologies, kind regards, AknolIikiW (talk) 15:18, 17 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for clarifying. Maybe you were working on an older version of the page, which, while publishing, automatically reverts all newer edits made to the page. If you want to avoid edit conflicts like these, it's always best to work on the most recent version of any given page. Throast (talk | contribs) 15:30, 17 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
