Belgaum_border_dispute and sarvagnya's tactics

Namaskar.I hope u remember during my disputes at Belgaum, you along with sunder had taught me some basic lessons in wikipedia?Well I tried my best absorbing it and applying it.Well I am about to reconsider them and it would be nice if u see belgaum_border_dispute.

sarvagnya along with his suspected sockpuppets is ruining the article and has tried is best to harrass overwhelm suppress and annoy me.Add to that partisan nature or complete ignorance of admins who do nothing when requested but are the first to come to block.
Pl do something about the article and check sarvagnya's trolling at once.I am sorry to say,as i am sure that wikipedia is all about biases and injustice,i have to take care of him in my way.
I know my message seems to be full POV but i am unapologetic.I have found out that u need to be flamboyant and arrogant like sarvagnya to get the things done.so i will be the stauch Marathi pov pusher to balance the kannadi pov on various organisation. Mahawiki 09:16, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

Sockpuppet results

Namaskar. Please see this, what are the next steps to be taken? Mahawiki 18:47, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

Dear aksi, Arya and his sock was blocked but why not sarvagnya?? Please do apply the same rule to sarvagnya. Mahawiki 19:37, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

Execuse me? I dont think u issued any warning to sarvagnya when he was bad-mouthing against me to dozens of admins? Why havent u blocked him when Arya was blocked for his sockpuppetary? Mahawiki 19:39, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

Umm. WP:SOCK would back mahawiki up. I'm not in the Belgaum dispute, but I did clash with sarvagnya on Talk:Saare Jahan Se Achcha, and he used User:Gnanpiti to gain an advantage in revert wars.Bakaman Bakatalk 00:50, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
Nothing could be farther from the truth. In the first place, there was/is no dispute on Saare Jahan se achcha as there was on belgaum. I am not the only party there. There was no voting or any such thing there for me to take undue advantage. And forget Gnanapiti, other respected users like SameerKhan, Ragib, Arvind, Antorjal etc., were in agreement with my views, rather we shared the same views. For all purposes, the issue there is split down the middle between two groups of users and the article is maintaining status quo. There is no question of me pushing any POV there or having any dispute with anyone there. For the most part all the discussion on that page has remained civil and to the point.
Saying that I have a dispute there is totally removed from the truth. The only issue I have there is the necessity for having hindi transliterations on that article. It was also an issue on Vande mataram and jana gana mana. On those two articles however, the other side explained their stand which the others(including me) agreed to. On the SJSA article, neither parties have been able to convince the other and it remains locked. It was locked by Ragib who was also a participant on the three articles mentioned above. If it is still locked by Ragib, it obviously means the discussion is not over. There is no question of me pushing any POV there. Sarvagnya 02:13, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
SameerKhan, Antorjal etc. have not been on SJSA page nor do they probably care either. You still forget that DaGizza, Basawala (himself an Urdu user) and Anupam (Urdu speaker) have provided more than enough proof to cement the use of Hindi. Its very much a dispute because you tried it on VM and JGM (where the Bengali users agreed to consensus) and now on SJSA. Calling Dagizza, basawala, mahawiki, me, and anupam (three different religions, three different languages) a consensus by "mob". Ragib probably totally forgot about the page, its not like he (or SameerKhan) cares about you and mahawiki duking it out.Bakaman Bakatalk 02:21, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
This is what User:SameerKhan had to say about my participation on those pages(one of those three, I dont remember which one) when somebody asked him about it. And, just for the record, I am not interested in getting into an argument with Baka here and I certainly make no note of people's religion, creed, ethnicity, nationality or sex when I get into a discussion. To me the only thing that matters is what the user has to say. Not unnecessary detail. Such details are for people like Baka and not me. Anyway, I guess Sameer's words speak for themselves. Sarvagnya 02:40, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
Sarvagnya has used sockpuppetry to seek a concession from 3RR rule.I was blocked once fot that.he is repearedly badmouthing me and bothering me.The whole summary of our latest feud is available at Talk:Belgaum. His mindless commentory over mycitations and his absolute bad faith talk is revealed here. Also find his provocation at Talk:Belgaum_border_dispute where he's calling names to Shivaji. We all knew that he was using sockpuppets. Why are u giving concession to sarvagnya when arya and his 'most likely' sockpuppet were blocked? I urge u to look at the discussions mentioned above to see the need opf blocking him. Mahawiki 04:04, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

You recently deleted Rebecca wilson as {{csd-a7}}. If the Rebecca Wilson mentioned in the article is one of the people listed in IMDb at http://www.imdb.com/find?s=all&q=Rebecca+wilson , then the person might be notable. I'm not an admin, so I don't know what's in the article. An article with different capitalization, Rebecca Wilson, was deleted a year ago, and appears to be the same person as http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1959858/ I realize that the article may have been quite weak, and but if the person actually is notable, I would like to salvage the article. --TruthbringerToronto (Talk | contribs) 09:17, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

  • Thank you. I agree that deletion was appropriate in this case, although I might have moved the article to the author's user page instead. --TruthbringerToronto (Talk | contribs) 06:18, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

I read the guidelines and it clearly says, there shall not be external links. In my signature, there is no link - which is external. If you still say it has an external link, please tell me, I will remove.

Also note that The guidelines never says NO to using a name as the signature.

Program Feature: Admin Coaching (needs coaches!)
Admin Coaching needs coaches!!! If you are an administrator, or even a generally experienced user, do consider signing up to be a coach.

Admin Coaching, now being coordinated by HighwayCello, is a program for people who want help learning some of the more subtle aspects of Wikipedia policy and culture. People are matched with experienced users who are willing to offer coaching. The program is designed for people who have figured out the basics of editing articles; they're not newcomers any more, but they might want some help in learning new roles. In this way, Esperanza would help keep hope alive for Wikipedia because we would always be grooming the next generation of admins.

What's New?
The Tutorial Drive is a new Esperanza program! In an effort to make complicated processes on Wikipedia easier for everyone, Esperanza working to create and compile a list of tutorials about processes here on Wikipedia. Consider writing one!
A discussion on how Esperanza relates to the encyclopedia has been started; please add your thoughts.
Many thanks to MiszaBot, courtesy of Misza13, for delivering the newsletter.
  • The list of proposed programs has been updated, with some proposals being archived.
  • There is now a new program: the Tutorial Drive! Consider writing a tutorial on something you are good at doing on Wikipedia.
  • The suggestion of adding a cohesive look to all the Esperanza pages is being considered; join the discussion if you are interested!
  • In order to make a useful interlanguage welcome template, those involved in translation projects will be asked what English Wikipedia policies are most important and confusing to editors coming from other language Wikipedias.
  • A discussion of Esperanza's role in Wikipedia is being held, with all thoughts of all Esperanzians wanted!
  • Shreshth91 informed everyone that he will be leaving the Esperanza council as life is rather busy; his spot will be filled by the runner up from the last election, HighwayCello.

Translation needed

Hi! In my town, we have a lot of people who speak Gujarati (it is one of the top three languages in Parsippany), and there are students who go to my school who speak it. I go to Parsippany Hills High School and can I ask a favor of you to translate my school's article into Gujarati to help these students? It would be a great help. Thanks a lot.

PS: I was referred to you by Rama's arrow as a good person to help me with this translation.

Shanem201 02:42, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

3RR block

Did you actually check the diffs provided for Fys? The fact that the 'version reverted to' was never reverted to? I make that three reverts and no more, and therefore the block is unjustified.

Mozart Bashing

I noticed that you were continually reverting vandalism by 219.190.100.71 on the Mozart page. It struck me that this was almost identical nonsense (e.g., repeated phallic symbolism) that I (and others) was reverting an hour earlier 84.16.40.178. I haven't the time to pursue it, and I doubt you do, either, but if you know someone to whom to pass that on, it might bear investigating. I swear I'd like to catch some vandal like that in person, and do something a little more serious than IP blocking, if you catch my drift! ;) --Eliyahu S Talk 13:00, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

block on swadhyayee

Under WP:SPAM#Friendly_notice I think Swadhyayee's actions are permitted under that. Indian editors would be interested if their country and/or religion is being defamed. I'm certain Freedom skies, Bhadani, myself, and Dangerous-Boy would have wanted to read the thing on how our religion is being defamed. If wP:SPAM was used a blocking reason the way it was used on an innocent man like swadhyayee, the whole KAnnada-MArathi user group would have been banned a long time ago.Bakaman Bakatalk 00:44, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, maybe. But I still think nearly all of the editors "spammed" would have wanted to read it anyway. He should though, find other avenues to reach more people with less spam, I agree with that.Bakaman Bakatalk 00:03, 8 November 2006 (UTC)

St Xavier's Schools in Ahmedabad

Are you sure about that? I assumed they were the same because both articles are almost identical. The school descriptions and logo are exactly the same. If they are different schools as you say, then clearly one of them has plagiarised the other's page. Gamesmaster G-9 16:33, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

Ah, my mistake - sorry. However, since the Mirzapur school page is almost a complete copy of the Loyola Hall one, I think something needs to be done there - either remove all copied material, or merge it into the Loyola Hall article. Your Evidence on Arbitration

Hi Aksi, it's nice to see that someone else noticed Hkelkar pretending not to know how to find out his IP before and later he seemed to know quite a lot. I noticed the same thing, as I said on Hkelkar's talk page: "When you were having that conversation in the IRC channel, you didn't know how to find your own IP address. On the request for arbitration, you're explaining network interfaces. I find that quite interesting." BhaiSaab talk 22:17, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

Like I said, physicists are fast learners. Don't believe me? Ask Blnguyen (also a physicist) how long it took him to learn renormalization group theory, which is orders of magnitude harder than tracing an ip address.Hkelkar 05:11, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

Kiruba Shankar

I mean no offence to Kiruba. But as far as Wikipedia is concerned he certainly is a 'nobody'. I have no personal stake in getting his article deleted except the fact that I hate the abuse of technology and Wikipedia. Blogging being what it is, with the right contacts, every blogger will have his day under the sun and his 15 mins of fame. That isnt enough to justify an article in an encyclopedia(even if only WP). Kiruba's blog itself has n.o.t.h.i.n.g special about it and is 'just another' of the billion blogs. Also note the words widespread influence in the Category:Bloggers description. Can anyone of those who has voted "Keep" on those pages, establish that he or his blogs have widespread influence(note that the emphasis is on 'influence' also). I just think some are voting in bad faith while others have their own stakes to gaurd. Sarvagnya 20:14, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

And as for getting excited, no, I am not excited or anything. It is just that I bother responding on any article or talk page or vote only when I have a 'view' on it. And if I have a 'view' on something, I invariably also have a lot to 'say'(you might have observed this on many occassions in the last few months). I for one, wouldnt vote "keep" simply because a single purpose acct., initiated the AfD. That, to me is ridiculous. Sarvagnya 20:26, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

Yes, there was a need to make that comment...

He stated that I "used no sources at all"[1] and "cited no reliable sources" [2] despite me citing Encyclopedia of Islam and Britannica here. Hkelkar seems to make quite a lot of inflammatory comments - you don't say anything to him. You can block away if you feel like it. BhaiSaab talk 20:16, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

Encyclopedia of Islam does not qualify as a reliable source? You're kidding me, right? It's one of the most respected academic and scholarly sources on Islam. If you can't tell by my tone, I was being sarcastic in my first sentence. Please don't give me warnings if you haven't looked into what actually happened. BhaiSaab talk 20:23, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
And I never mentioned any wiki - Encyclopedia of Islam is not a wiki, and neither is Britannica. You are misinformed. BhaiSaab talk 20:29, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
Well it would do him well to stop lying about my sources and yet he does not do that. That makes me upset. BhaiSaab talk 20:32, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
I agree but it becomes difficult after one has to continue to deal with it after many months and then it's possible that people become tricked by him. I will try to keep my cool - thanks for the advice. BhaiSaab talk 20:40, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
