Thanks for your contribution to Iran's page.69.116.234.208 23:53, 2 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Alain, this seems like a workable solution. Please put it in the Iran article. Simesa 17:12, 31 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Alain, I think you've succeeded! The link to your Iran international crisis is apparently acceptable (and it's a balanced article). Congratulations! And Thanks! Simesa 01:05, 2 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Meeting of Irap president Jalal Talabani with supreme leader of Iran Khamenei.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Meeting of Irap president Jalal Talabani with supreme leader of Iran Khamenei.gif. The image description page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Hi, Alain10.

Could you please help me to restore this quote in french?:

I n ’y a, d ’ailleurs à ce jour auc un example d’une action terroriste menée par des islamistes internationalistes en collaboration avec des non musulmans (source number 44 in the article linked above)

I know enough french as to understand the meaning of the quote (i.e., that there is no precedent of collaboration of international islamists with non-muslims), but not enough as to restore the first words, garbled by the PDF format. There were non-muslims involved in the 2004 Madrid train attacks.

It is important, Alain10, because we still do not know who commited the attacks (and those who claim that the case is closed are misinformed or lying). This quote is just another stepping stone in the way to know the truth.

Thank you for your attention.Randroide 15:59, 14 January 2007 (UT )

"Until now, there has never been any example of a terrorist action by international islamist made in collaboration with non muslims" Alain10 20:19, 14 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ehr...thank you very much, Alain10, but seems I did not explain my problem very good: What I need is a "restored" version of the words I n ’y a... unless those letters are canonical french, something I have my doubts about.
I knew about you through the category of native french speakers.Randroide 20:34, 14 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
"Il n'y a d'ailleurs à ce jour aucun exemple" means "There is anyway until now no example" Alain10 22:33, 14 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
This is it!!!. Thank you very much, Alain10!!!. : ) If you need any kind of reference from an spanish speaker please contact with me. Randroide 08:57, 15 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

FYI[edit]

Grand Ayatollah Khamenei was very much against Israel's existence. However, it recent times he has been somewhat silent. He has proclaimed,

  1. ^ Arabs Still Want to Destroy Israel by Daniel Pipes, Wall Street Journal, 18 January 2002
  2. ^ IRAN SAYS IT WANTS TO DESTROY ISRAEL. WHY IS EVERYONE SHOCKED? Repeat Offenders
  3. ^ Little fanfare in Iraq "Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei called for the destruction of Israel, saying it was the only way to solve the problems of the Middle East." CNN, 1 January 2000

Ahmadinejad is not the only one to make such statements.--Patchouli 02:00, 20 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

this is threatening. However, this is not a direct threat to attack. Theoretically you can always argue that you wish to terminate the state, not its population (after all, history is full of states that have been created or that have disappeared).
Personally I tend to think that they would never attack because it would be suicidal, since retaliations would be huge and Israel (not to mention the US) could easily "wipe Iran off the map" with their nuclear weapons. However, if I were living in Israel I would probably have a less relaxed view. Alain10 13:00, 20 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Iran international crisis[edit]

Hi! Please read my notes on the talk page. Also I appreciate the time and energy you spent to write such an article. I clearly see you tried a lot to keep it neutral (some thing a user like Patchouli is basically unable to do). I just wanted to tell you my feeling as a very ordinary Iranian. In future we will get more inputs from others and we can make a neutral decision. Thanks anyways. Sinooher 22:00, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Global warming[edit]

Hi Alain, I was reading the article on Peak Oil - which is excellent and followed the link to global warming and was very surprised that that article did not refer to peak oil even in passing.

I've added a section with some basic facts effectively inviting readers of global warming to visit peak oil to find out more. I don't know why some of the global warming evangelists are being so upetty about it, but they are giving me hassle. I noticed you were a contributor to the peak oil article, and I am leaving this to ask for some support88.110.38.52 22:18, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Meeting of Irap president Jalal Talabani with supreme leader of Iran Khamenei.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Meeting of Irap president Jalal Talabani with supreme leader of Iran Khamenei.gif. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Bob 19:41, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Politics of Iran[edit]

Warning
Warning

Please refrain from undoing other people's edits repeatedly, as you are doing in Template:Politics of Iran. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. Rather than reverting, discuss disputed changes on the talk page. The revision you want is not going to be implemented by edit warring. Thank you. AndrewRT(Talk) 12:55, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't believe it!! I am reverting vandalism from somebody who, without cause and explanation, has been deleting repeatedly reference to "Iran international crisis". Who are you to make this comment?Alain10 20:19, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I left the same message on their page too. Revert warring in always discouraged on wikipedia and it takes two to war! Please find another way to resolve this dispute - such as fo instance engaging in discussion on the talk page as the other user has already started. Incidentally vandalism (see WP:VAND) is a bad faith edit, and I would hesitate to describe the other person's edits as bad faith, even if they are against policy. AndrewRT(Talk) 21:04, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The person responsible for this edit war is Gerash77. It is very simple: the link to Iran international crisis was there since 24 December 2006 and it wasn't an issue for anybody. Then suddenly, a person, Gerash77, decides to get rid of it without any explanation. He is the guy violating all wiki etiquette. Your intervention is not helpful. Alain10 19:02, 17 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

An editor has nominated Current international tensions with Iran, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Current international tensions with Iran and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. Jayden54Bot 19:44, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I just created this article on this very topical subject. The subject matter would make for a good featured article, so I am hoping to enlist your help to get it there qualitatively. Ohconfucius 03:35, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use disputed for Image:Meeting of Irap president Jalal Talabani with supreme leader of Iran Khamenei.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Meeting of Irap president Jalal Talabani with supreme leader of Iran Khamenei.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:21, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
