Alan, could you please provide references in the article? Listing text alone won't suffice. Please read WP:REFB and let me know if you need any help. You can contact me by posting on my talk page or by posting on this page and using the talkback template on my talk page. —Ahnoneemoos (talk) 00:42, 1 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Just add the link to the reference right after refs= under the Reference section. Let me know once you have done so and I will fix it up for you. Also, please make sure you introduce yourself and join us at WT:CHESS. —Ahnoneemoos (talk) 00:59, 1 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I put in some URLs and separated refs from bibliography. there are no good refs other than what is now listed under bibliography.
What type of refs do you seek?
I have some photos--not sure how to upload or if they are wanted

Perfect! The bibliography will be more than enough. Other editors will now format them properly. Regarding photos, you can upload them using the File Upload Wizard. —Ahnoneemoos (talk) 03:07, 1 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I uploaded two photos to commons, but couldn't get them into wiki. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Alantheodoresherman (talkcontribs) 03:42, 1 December 2012‎

Do you have the link to where the photos reside on Commons? I can help you out if you do. —Ahnoneemoos (talk) 04:44, 1 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
How do get the link? where is this explained? two photos are on commons (search for umbc, final four). I could also provide a photo from the pan-am 2012 (there are also photos on monroi) separately, the cross ref from Pan-Am to Final four needs to be better directed (disambiguated) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Alantheodoresherman (talkcontribs) 05:13, 1 January 2013
OK I will look into it. Give me a few minutes. By the way Alan, do not put your signature in the "Edit summary"; put it on the text instead right after you finish your comment. Signatures are used solely on Talk pages. This page is your talk page with each article having its own talk page as well. Notice that by me putting ~~~~ at the end of this message my signature will show up like this: —Ahnoneemoos (talk) 18:04, 1 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Done I just added the pictures to the article. Please let me know once you have uploaded the others. Regarding how to put them on articles, once the picture is uploaded into Commons you will see a button to the right that says: Use this file on a wiki. Just click on it, copy the text that appears, and paste it on the article at the location within the article where you want to show the picture at. —Ahnoneemoos (talk) 18:24, 1 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I added a photo to the Pan-Am. this time I went directly from wiki commons rather than through the wizard and it worked more easily. How do you automatically disambiguate the link to "President's Cup"? Alantheodoresherman (talk) 19:26, 1 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The disambiguation is already done; see President's Cup (disambiguation). In cases like this, since there are so many different "President's Cup", we create a single page with links to all the Cups. In this case we created a redirect at President's Cup (chess) which points to Final Four of College Chess. —Ahnoneemoos (talk) 20:47, 1 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Alan, I misunderstood your question. I know what you mean now. There are three different ways to link to Final Four but showing the text as "President's Cup". Here's how:
President's Cup
will display as President's Cup (but notice it links to Final Four of College Chess).
President's Cup
will display as President's Cup (but notice it links to President's Cup (chess) which redirects to Final Four of College Chess).
President's Cup (chess)
will display as President's Cup (but notice it links to President's Cup (chess) which redirects to Final Four of College Chess).
Hope this helps.
