I'm concerned about some of the images that you have been adding. We cannot accept copyrighted images I'm afraid. You have not added any copyright info to any of the images that you have added. Theres no point gettin the other picture though coz the article has been deleted. Can i ask why?

Well I didn't do the deletion but the article was unverifyable. We need to be able to check out the facts. Articles about an online joke are difficlt. How are we supposed to know that you didn't make it all up? We need references - newspaper reports, mention in promenant websites such as slashdot, bbc, etc (not blogs) or books. Aberdeenshire (UK Parliament constituency)

I've removed the reference to Torphins that you added to this article. Torphins is not listed in the 1868 Act definition of the Aberdeen East and Aberdeen West constituencies. So far as I know, Torphins is not a parish anyway, and is listed in later legislation as part of the parish of Kincardine O'Neill.--George Burgess 08:32, 8 March 2006 (UTC)

Torphins is very much its own parish and has only recently merged with the parishes of Knikardine o neil and Lumphanan.

Darlington F.C.

Hi, I've noticed you've removed my Adam Quinn picture from the current squad section of the club page as it "looks out of place if there's only one", which I agree with. The only reason I put it there as he doesn't have a profile. I've put it back on there with a photo of your new signing Danzelle St Louis-Hamilton (looks good, played for us at the start of the season in a few friendlies). At least with both pictures now its not going to look odd and the pictures are being put to some use now until the players get there own pages. Dunno if you've looked at the Darlo players recently, I met a few of them recently at the 1-1 draw with Tamworth and got a few piccys for there profile pages. Hello. You probably aren't aware of the notability guideline for footballers, which sets the bar at those who've played in a fully-pro league, which the Conference isn't. The general bio guideline requires "significant coverage in reliable secondary sources that are independent of the subject", and I'm not sure you'd find it for a player with very non-league experience before half a season in the Conf. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 08:02, 22 July 2011 (UTC)

Please refer to point 1 of the criteria at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Football/Notability. Here it states that to be notable a player must "have played for a fully professional club at a national level of the league structure. This must be supported by evidence from a reliable source on a club by club basis for teams playing in leagues that are not recognised as being fully professional". Of course that is not official wiki policy, but it makes a valid point. While the BSPL is not a fully professional league, Darlington is a fully professional team. Campbell has also represented Darlington in the FA Trophy, including a final appearance at the national stadium, Wembley.

There are a number of technicalities that could account for the articles deletion, but I would argue that as part of a team who won a major FA trophy, albeit for the lower leagues, the article is more than notable. Also I would point in the direction of Chris Senior, who has never played above Conference level but who has an article (which I intend to update). Also, given that Campbell had a spell with Man City in his youth, surely that counts as a reputable team in a professional league? Alasdairaph 12:52, 22 July 2011 (UTC)

The essay WP:FOOTYN was worked on over quite a lengthy period as a proposed football-specific section of what was then WP:ATHLETE, but (disappointingly, in my view) was never accepted outside the project. We have to go by WP:NFOOTBALL or WP:BIO. Mr Campbell's spell with Man City as a kid wouldn't count: a player has to play in a fully-pro league for a club, not just be on their books. Personally, if I'd spotted an article on a player with a lengthy career at Conference level but nothing above, I wouldn't put it into the deletion process, but Mr Campbell's only played 12 games even at that level.

If you don't agree with the proposed deletion, the procedure is to remove the tag at the top of the article, and explain why at the article's talk page. Then if anyone still thinks it should be deleted, they'll take it to the articles for deletion process, where the matter will be discussed and you can argue your case. It you want him kept, though, I'd advise concentrating on finding "significant coverage in reliable secondary sources that are independent of the subject", to get him through WP:BIO/WP:GNG. Nationality of DFC1883 footballers

Hello. If you have sources for those players having specifically English nationality, please would you add them. The DFC website doesn't give a nationality or birthplace for most of them, so without another explicit source, we're just making assumptions, and the WP:BLP policy prefers us not to guess. I agree in principle, but having some nationalities and not others makes it look ridiculous and out of keeping with other such articles. Therefore, the nationalities should be there for all or none of the players. Furthermore, whilst there is no explicit source for the nationalities, most of the players for a northern league team are going to be English. Educated guesses are better than leaving some blank and others not.

We're writing an encyclopedia, with a commitment to publishing facts, not assumptions: see the verifiability policy, which says that Wikipedia's "content is determined by previously published information rather than by the personal beliefs or experiences of its editors. Even if you're sure something is true, it must be verifiable before you can add it." This is particularly important when dealing with facts about living people, as is made very clear by the biographies of living persons policy, which applies to any page where living people are described, not just to biographies per se. I will remember to add a summary in future, but I didn't delete the link because it was dead. I deleted it because it didn't relate to the part in which it was situated. The information it related to was covered in a further citation at the end of the sentence.
