Feedback on second article[edit]

Hi. Nice expansion of the AST/RO article. Some feedback

  • I changed your reference links - I used DOIs instead of webpages to generate the references. DOIs are better because they produce readable references on the Wikipedia side, so people can see what the sources are instead of just clicking on not-too-informative links.
  • The Science section could be a lot more informative. Adding links would allow people to learn more about the things you're talking about here. In general, you should add links for terms the average person wouldn't be familiar with.
    • The bullet points at the end aren't helpful to someone who knows nothing about these topics. Links to other articles would be helpful there too, of course, but also expanding the bullet points into a few sentences would increase the value of what you've written a lot. What are these things and why should a reader care about them?
  • The People section is even less helpful - it's really just a list of people and their affiliations. It isn't really readable, and it doesn't explain anything about who these people are. What would the average person get from reading that section? This section also lacks references entirely. That's a problem when you're just listing people - it already looks promotional, and without sources to indicate why these people are listed, it's going to raise red flags. • Thanks very much for the helpful feedback. A few clarifications. The plan is to expand every bullet point in the science section into a paragraph with a figure. I am not sure there are articles to link each result to but the hope here was to at least give readers a sense of what the telescope did, each bullet point is an active area of research and could easily have its own page. Similarly, more detail will be added to the People section (there are already links to folks who have webpages or obituaries) including expanding on their contributions. I would have thought that readers would be interested in the personnel behind a project - I mean if you look up a Wikipedia article on a movie it will include the names of the key people who made it happen. However, if someone finds that 'promotional' I would not contest them removing stuff. Frankly, this is an old retired project and the players have long moved on (or in some cases passed away) so being mentioned in a Wikipedia article is going to have zero impact on their lives :) Thanks.
