User Sandbox[edit]

I've completely editted the template User Sandbox. I've made it more similar to the Wikipedia Sandbox, but I did keep the pictures. You can view it if you like. I also added the template to your own Sandbox. I apologize to you if you didn't want that. You can remove it to you like. --Ianonavy (talk) 02:23, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Special Stage (rallying)[edit]

Hey. Nice work here. I was wondering if you would object to moving the page to Special stage? Several sources do use the capitalized "Special Stage", but a large majority of Google News entries seem to use "special stage", and the usual enwp guideline is not to capitalize unless necessary. Special stage (rallying) would work too, but I don't know if disambiguating like that would serve the readers. Thanks, Prolog (talk) 14:30, 6 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Special stage (rallying)" sounds fine to me. "Special stage" should still be created as a redirect to Special Stage then, to avoid it being a redlink in articles as seen here. By the way, it seems like there are many articles that could use a wikilink. I'll go through those Google results some time, unless someone beats me to it. Image copyright problem with Image:Timewatch title card.jpg[edit]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Timewatch title card.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 23:56, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Repco brabham logo.png)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Repco brabham logo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 09:44, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for finding me that, Alex! :D I'll try and find a home for it in the article. Then when Pryce's article (finally) gets onto the main page we'll at least have a free use image to use! --Phill talk Edits Review this GA review! 22:05, 3 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Dtm_logo.PNG[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Dtm_logo.PNG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rockfang (talk) 05:08, 11 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Bsb galaxy logo.JPG[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Bsb galaxy logo.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 19:05, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Alex, hope your fine. Recently, the Japan 1995 article was up for Peer review. You said you'd review it thoroughly on the peer review, but it has since been closed. Could you possibly (if you have some spare time) provide a review on the article's talkpage. I would be very greatful if you could provide a review of it on the talkpage. Thanks, D.M.N. (talk) 21:16, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No I actually haven't thought of doing that, because for that article it is untrue. For the Qualifying results, I did not use the official F1 website, as they for whatever reason do not supply results for qualifying. It's also not like on the official site they put the distance (km and miles), who achieved fastest lap, what date was it held on etc., all they supply for the old races is the race result itself. All of the timings for qualifying I got off a different website. I also prefer to put the ref in the time column for the result table as it looks more professional IMO. Hopefully I've managed to word the above right - sorry if sounds a bit weird! :) D.M.N. (talk) 22:07, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I suggest keeping the article (along with the talkpage) on your watchlist, as comments will be coming in due course. :) D.M.N. (talk) 19:31, 27 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've responded to the comments. I think you deserve this:

I left some more comments on the talkpage. On the Autocourse subject, Diniz won't be able to get to it for a week and a half, so I won't be able to use that at the moment. I'll use it later, hopefully by that time, someone should of reviewed the article for GA-status. D.M.N. (talk) 21:43, 28 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

1994 San Marino GP[edit]

Ofcourse it's suitable for the article, as if the drivers were using this device, Ratzenberger would probably be alive today (Kubica's last year accident in Montreal was almost identical to Ratzenberger's, and the Polish driver escaped the crash unharmed).I removed this sentence because it gave the impression to the common reader that the device was started to be used in the same year, something which never happened in real. So it should be made clearer when FIA started to discuss the possibilty of using the HANS device (1995-96) and when they decided to make it mandatory (2001)!--KaragouniS :  Chat  09:29, 1 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:Btcc logo.PNG[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Btcc logo.PNG. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --00:12, 17 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Bbcscrumv logo.jpg}[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:Bbcscrumv logo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Re: Top Gear presenters images[edit]

First off, thanks for notifying me. I am not very active on the Commons, so I am not aware of their specific policies. I obtained permission through flickr's private messaging system, so there isn't really an e-mail that I can forward. I'd rather not bother the person again and ask them to e-mail the commons if at all possible. Do you think the commons would accept screenshots of my conversation with him? Or is there a better idea? If not, I'll ask that he e-mail the commons, giving them permission directly. By the way, it seems as if the 7 day grace period isn't strictly enforced, as (at the commons) was deleted 10 hours after I was notified. I know people sometimes make mistakes and it can easily be undeleted, but still. Thanks for you assistance,

Speedy deletion of Bedder 6[edit]

A tag has been placed on Bedder 6, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Tohd8BohaithuGh1 (talk) 21:31, 5 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Bedder 6[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Bedder 6, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. I've had it in my head from the beginning the races I thought we could get to FA standard, and 2008 British Grand Prix was one of them. Good luck! Apterygial 22:45, 19 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Good luck with the British article. You'll need it. ;)
If you need any quotes from any drivers or anything, I've got the Autocourse 2008-09 annual, plus I have the corresponding Autosport Magazine which has a review of the British race, and review regarding the Donington announcement. If you do need any quotes, or anything from the race in general leave a ping at the British talkpage, and I'll see what I can find. It may be better to have a wide variety of sources so they aren't all web sources. Good start on it. ;) D.M.N. (talk) 21:02, 21 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
