Ways to improve Mybesthelper[edit]

Hi, I'm Okamialvis. Alexandragreenhill, thanks for creating Mybesthelper!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Are you ?from PR of Mybesthelper?

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. Okamialvis (talk) 08:55, 9 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Mybesthelper[edit]

Hello Alexandragreenhill,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Mybesthelper for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Okamialvis (talk) 08:56, 9 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Founders network, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which articles can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, Alexandragreenhill. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your circle, your organization, its competitors, projects or products;
  • instead propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Your linkedin page, https://www.linkedin.com/in/atgreenhill, clearly flags your conflicts, "Alexandra is cofounder CEO of myBestHelper.com", and "Winner - Cartier Women's Global Entrepreneur Awards - North America" Bazj (talk) 13:32, 9 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Bazj (talk, I didn't see these requirements. Makes sense and I will look into all of this when I get a chance. The changes I made to the Cartier Awards page were NPOV (but yes, I need to do the COI, I get it), but the myBestHelper one I get and will not do as I am too close to the source :) Have a great day!Alexandragreenhill (talk) 18:11, 9 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I hope you stick around and enjoy contributing to the wiki. I'm guess you've grasped by now that we're all volunteers and we didn't volunteer to publicise your business. Bear that in mind and I'm sure you'll do fine. Regards, Bazj (talk) 18:40, 9 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Bazj Will do!Alexandragreenhill (talk) 18:45, 9 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

April 2016[edit]

Information icon Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Cartier Women's Initiative Awards. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Bazj (talk) 13:38, 9 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Bazj thx! will look into all of this when I get a chance. Alexandragreenhill (talk) 18:12, 9 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

This was really well done. I had read the static documents before this, but this helped make sense of it all. Thanks! Alexandragreenhill (talk) 17:26, 9 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Theroadislong which material was copyrighted? Where can I see this? Thanks!!! Alexandragreenhill (talk) 17:25, 9 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The content I removed was copied and pasted from here [1] Theroadislong (talk) 17:30, 9 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
talk the things are copied are the exact objectives of the initiative. If I reword these, they will no longer be real. Does this make sense?Alexandragreenhill (talk) 17:33, 9 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Well for example "Each partner brings its expertise to the initiative: Cartier plays a leading role in the organisation of the competition and provides coaching and funding for the projects." Could be re-written in any number of ways, but it CANNOT be copied and pasted from the source. Theroadislong (talk) 17:38, 9 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Theroadislong Ok, I understand. I will rewrite it but how can I get access to the text I wrote so I don't restart from scratch? Also - most of the other edits were updating the numbers etc. Why did you cancel all when the only things that needed to be changed were a couple of paragraphs about the process for the competitions? Is there no way for you to flag some issues but leave alone the changes that are not an issue? Just curious as I am new here. Alexandragreenhill (talk) 17:42, 9 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, I am not going to spend time sorting out the non copyright parts of your edit. Theroadislong (talk) 17:47, 9 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

December 2023[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Graham87. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Ilizarov apparatus, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Graham87 (talk) 17:53, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I eventually decided it was better style to put no names at all than a long list in the lead section, but please add references when making edits (or at least try to copy them over, in this case ... because they were already at the Gavriil Ilizarov page.
