sand split? sand spit? or what?[edit]

Hi Alicia,

In this version of the Kerri Walsh Jennings page, your edit appears to have a typo. I don't think there's such a thing as a "sand split" (except this one), so I suspect that

"Walsh trained on the sand split between Hermosa Beach and Manhattan Beach in Los Angeles, California, and..."

was intended to be:

"Walsh trained on the sand spit between Hermosa Beach and Manhattan Beach in Los Angeles, California, and..."

Am I right? Is that what you meant?

spit. n. A narrow point of land extending into a body of water.

The only problem is that when I look at the beach in Google Earth, there's no spit there. So I'm confused. What did you mean?

I'm going to copy this question to the article's Talk page, so please reply there. NCdave (talk) 02:31, 9 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I believe the word "split" was a typo. I did not add it to the article. At the time in question I was doing a little re-write and I did not check carefully to see if the earlier writing had errors. In the edit you reference I just moved down previous content to a lower position on the page. The word was actually added to the article with this edit by IP editor 66.27.161.134 back in May 2012. I am sorry to say I do not know the area in question well, so I could not tell you if there is a spit between those beaches or not, nor do I have sourcing for the claim that she trained there. Maybe the author just meant a sandy area in-between the two main beaches? Sorry it has taken me so long to respond! Thanks for helping to improve the page!! AliciaZag13/Editing tools[edit]

Hi. Just letting you know that you created this page in the wrong namespace. So I've moved it to User:AliciaZag13/Editing tools. Cheers, Pichpich (talk) 21:45, 29 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I know! I was just trying to fix that. Thanks!! AliciaZag13 (talk) 21:46, 29 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Alish, does this work?

Nope. The "short cut" goes to a redirect page. Hmm. Don't quite get the short cut thing.AliciaZag13 (talk) 03:02, 1 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Wait a minute, Lish. Suppose you go like this WP:NOCITE and place the short cut key inside double brackets. Does that work?

Sure does!! AliciaZag13 (talk) 03:17, 1 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, can you please give some attention to the Bridgette Andersen article? Paul Benjamin Austin (talk) 20:14, 10 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I am sorry to say I really don't know that much about her, except that she was in a favorite movie of mine, and that she died very young from a drug overdose. Very sad. There is a DVD version of Savannah Smiles which has interviews with Mark Miller and Teresa Andersen, Bridgette's mother. If I can find it I will see what I can learn. Thanks for thinking of me. User page sandboxes[edit]

Hello, I am curious about the status of the user pages which you have created, namely:

  1. Have the rules of WP:Copying within Wikipedia been observed here, especially for content that you did not create, especially in regards to providing attribution for the authors of that content? In the edit description you can use: Copied content from [[<page name>]]; see that page's history for attribution
  2. Have you considered removing content which is no longer needed, because you have incorporated it into mainspace articles?
  3. What is the purpose or relevance of content such as what appears to be medical chart entries?
  4. Some content seems to have been copied from administrative noticeboards. Is it your intent to archive this for some reason?

Savannah Smiles[edit]

Just edit the article. Don't let an anon IP stop you. Paul Benjamin Austin (talk) 23:36, 12 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I think its worth pointing out the common misunderstanding about the story, but I would rather not change it back without other editors weighing in and supporting the change. Thanks though. AliciaZag13 (talk) 00:51, 15 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
