A tag has been placed on Lyn Stanley, International Recording Artist, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. reddogsix (talk) 02:08, 24 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I am baffled here. This page has been revised with content that is supported via outside citations. The page was given "speedy deletion" stigma whilst the author was adding and removing content during an editing process. The copy has been revised. The scrutineer "reddogsix" made the summary judgement during the process. The content was revised to the current state, apparently nor re-reviewed by reddogsix. A search on internet led to this statement by Wikipedia. Reddogsix revised the headline and added "speedy deletion" copy indicating superficial content. I would appreciate some help here. The guidelines seem to be now followed and appropriate with the revised content created for this entry reddogsix has renamed "Lyn Stanley (vocalist)".

Your account has been blocked from editing Wikipedia with this username. This is because your username, AllTimeMusic, does not meet our username policy.

Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below) and continue editing.

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account

You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines and create the account yourself. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:

  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you think that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. Drmies (talk) 21:08, 28 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Confused again...You've blocked this account for the NAME of the contributor?[edit]

Could you give me a real explanation for what is wrong with the name of my account? All Time Music is not promotional, it does not relate to product name, and this name has been on Wikipedia as a user name for OVER a year and now you suddenly block it?? AllTimeMusic (talk) 23:44, 31 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Well, it sounds like a name that's not that of an individual. It sounds like a company name, and the tone of the article is also promotional, or at least in the earlier versions: this version copies text from this commercial site.

    I don't mind unblocking, I suppose. Rosiestep, ping. Drmies (talk) 04:39, 2 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Drmies thanks for circling back with this one. I found All Time Music Hall, so I see what you mean that the username might seem like a company name. As for the article... Ipigott maybe you have some suggestions? --Rosiestep (talk) 04:58, 2 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • There's a lot of hits, including on sites like Soundcloud and Bandcamp. I'm looking at the article, but I'll just step back and let y'all handle it. Drmies (talk) 05:02, 2 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Rosiestep and Drmies: I think it's unfortunate that this new user has had such a rough start with his/her first article. I hope we can try to settle all the problems and encourage further participation. I've tried to tidy the article up a bit and add a bit more background. I'm still rather surprised about the problem with the user name. The website mentioned is actually a Brazilian blog "All Time Music Hall" and can hardly be said to have commercial interests. I agree with the user that there is nothing commercial about AllTimeMusic. There are several similar user names: AllTimeTwinkie, Primetimeking, etc. If you really still think it presents a problem, then I see user:AllMusic is still free. Would that be acceptable to all concerned? If so, it could be specifically suggested to the user.--Ipigott (talk) 08:55, 2 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Ipigott, "Twinkie" and "King" point to individuals. "Music" does not. Please let's clear up this misunderstanding: they weren't blocked for having a promotional name, but for having a name that does not suggest an individual editing the project. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 15:18, 2 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Sorry, Drmies, despite more than 10 years on Wikipedia, I had not realized such distinctions existed. So I suppose "AllMusicFan" would be acceptable? Perhaps you could advise the user how to change the name.--Ipigott (talk) 08:31, 3 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Minor corrections[edit]

Thank you for the help as this is indeed my first time entering data to this website. You have added a lot, and I very much appreciate your time and effort.

There are a couple of corrections needed to this update.

Annette Warren was born in 1922. She is now 93 but will be 94 in July. The Wikipedia entry on Annette will verify this.

My father was an amateur jazz pianist (a hobby not a profession).

As an FYI..just to be clear... My ballroom dance career was an an amateur competitor on the Pro/Am DanceSport circuit (where I won 3 championship titles in 2010) and the amateur competitive DanceSport circuit (and became a national finalist) organized by the USA Dance http://usadance.org.

And, I just like the idea that American standards/songbook music is proving to be timeless, hence the name picked for the "handle" of AllTimeMusic. If you think I need to change this, anything that communicates this is ok with me.AllTimeMusic (talk) 15:18, 5 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
