Help 1[edit]

{{helpme}} RE: Breeze Zuckerman How do I get the article on Breeze Zuckerman added back to Wikipedia? I did links and added sources. She is getting more famous each day. Please help. Thank you. Allyplayspoker (talk) 09:42, 3 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The old version of the article is still there in the history, here - however, it was changed to a redirect because it does seem to be about a person who is "notable only for one event" - see WP:BLP1E. That is, the only verifiable reliable sources seem to be about the one specific event they won. The rest does not seem to be verifiable.
If you disagree and think that it would be possible to show their notability beyond the one event, then I suggest you create a user-space draft, and work there, sticking to facts that can be verified from independent reliable sources only - and then ask for others to check it, with another {{helpme}} when you think it is OK.
Important: If you have a close association with the subject (or if it is about you), then you have a conflict of interest, and in that case, it is strongly recommended that you do not write about the subject; if this is the case, please carefully read WP:COI.
You should also read WP:BLP, which has more details about the requirements of biographic articles. Chzz  ►  14:57, 3 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Breeze Zuckerman, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. --Orange Mike | Talk 18:45, 3 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Help 2[edit]

The article on Breeze Zuckerman was REDIRECTED...it goes to the World Series of Poker page. How do I get the article/page on Breeze Zuckerman back into Wikipedia. She is now getting very famous for her new title of the "Last Woman Standing" 2010 at the World Series of Poker. All the informantion on her is from newspapers and magazines and espn interviews. Allyplayspoker (talk) 20:07, 3 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If she is actually notable, then somebody other than her friend who has been asked to help publicize her will create an article. Given your already-disclosed conflict of interest, you should let this subject drop. --Orange Mike | Talk 21:01, 3 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The article has been re-established at Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Breeze Zuckerman you can work the article at that location but it will have to meet all criteria for inclusion. If you have references to add, I suggest you add them and continue to improve the article until it is created Good luck. My76Strat 21:09, 3 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Allyplayspoker, I am concerned that I took the unusual notion to resurrect this article based upon your {{helpme}} request coupled with your assertion that many references were available for inclusion to this article. As yet I have not seen your attempts to strengthen this article and opposition is already mounting. It is imperative that you fulfill your implied obligation to improve this article. As it is currently situated, it is likely to be declined for the same reasons as earlier highlighted to you. Kind regards. My76Strat 06:12, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Help 3[edit]

{{helpme}} Thank you for your help. I am asking for help from people who know how to use the computer to help with this article. The two people that I are trying to help do not know Breeze Zuckerman. The article/page is neutral and just states facts as they were given in inerviews and news/magazine articles (referenced). More information and documentation is forthcoming. Please leave this article/page up so it can continue to be refined up to Wikipedia's standards. Thank you. Allyplayspoker (talk) 06:54, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article is not live, it is in the 'articles for creation' system. We do not delete things there, unless they are a copyright violation or something. So, it will stay there forever, although the status will change to 'on hold' and then 'declined'. That does not, however, stop you trying to develop it, and you can resubmit it.
I do not think, at present, that this person has enough notability for their own article - as previously explained, because of WP:BLP1E.
Live articles must fulfill the requirements, otherwise they get deleted, which is what happened previously. But the draft in 'articles for creation' can stay there forever. I hope that clarifies.
I also repeat what Orange Mike said; If this person is notable (beyond the one event), then somebody else will create an article, and due to the conflict of interest, you are strongly advised to not write it yourself.  Chzz  ►  14:11, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

{{Helpme}} I read what you suggested OrangeMike. Thank you for the information. I wss not refering to her as "up and coming" but rather the sport/game of poker 'has arrived and the time now is to include articles/pages of persons that made an impact in that sport/game. If this was three years ago, no but today poker is worldwide. Times have changed in the poker world. Just as the dictionary has changed in the last 2 years...Thank you. Allyplayspoker (talk) 18:26, 4 August 2010 (UTC) {{helpme}} Thank you 76Strat. Appreciate that you gave this article another look and I hope that it soon will be accepted. As mentioned, times have changed in the poker world. Thank you for your time. Allyplayspoker (talk) 18:36, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The user you are addressing, "My76Strat", is unlikely to see this message. You used a {{helpme}} again, which is for asking for help from anyone.
To contact that specific person, you should make a section at the end of that users own talk page, which is User talk:My76Strat.  Chzz  ►  18:51, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Please use {{helpme}} when you have a question.
To write to a user, put a message on their talk page - for example, User talk:Chzz, User talk:Orangemike, whatever; there is a link to talk pages on the right of peoples signatures.
When you put 'helpme' it is a request for a volunteer helper to answer some specific question, and you seem to be using it to reiterate that you consider the topic worthy of inclusion; that is not what {{helpme}} is for.
We can advise on procedures, help with fixing things, etc. But 'helpme' isn't for debating the relative merits of this persons notability.
As previously advised - if the person is notable, then someone else will, at some point, write about them. And the advice in WP:COI strongly recommends that you, personally, do not.  Chzz  ►  18:34, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your submission at Articles for creation[edit]

Thank you for submitting an article to Wikipedia. Your submission has been reviewed and has been put on hold pending clarification or improvements from you or other editors. Please take a look and respond if possible. You can find it at Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Breeze Zuckerman. If there is no response within twenty-four hours the request may be declined; if this happens feel free to continue to work on the article. You can resubmit it (by adding the text {{subst:AFC submission/submit}} to the top of the article) when you believe the concerns have been addressed. Thank you.  Chzz  ►  14:14, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

{{helpme}}

Thank you for the information. There have been at least 2 edits in the last 24 hours by a neutral party. I have been seeking help from other people who do not know Breeze. This article/page should be in Wikepedia. The interest in poker has grown by hundreds of thousands in the USA and it is an international game as well. This is a huge and growing spectator sport as well. There is much more interest in poker today. Thank you. Allyplayspoker (talk) 16:37, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have a question?  Chzz  ►  16:41, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

{{helpme}} I wnanted to thank you and the review panel and I was trying to plead my case...in that Poker is not what it used to be and so the interest has grown over a thousand fold over the past few years. This article is relevant. Thank you. Allyplayspoker (talk) 17:14, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please, also read "Up and coming next big thing". --Orange Mike | Talk 17:32, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Some feedback[edit]

Hello Allyplayspoker. I appreciate your diligence in advocating an article for Breeze Zuckerman. I have little doubt the she is at the threshold of poker notability, and likely will soon meet Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion. The problem is that if she hasn't crossed that threshold as yet, the article fails the criteria. Most editors are focusing on the single accomplishment as the "Last Woman Standing" during the 2010 WSOP. Certainly this is an accomplishment not to be minimized. It is however a single event. What strikes me, is she also made a final table with a 5th place finish in a "Deepstack" tournament, which is verified in secondary sources. The infobox doesn't even highlight this fact which is the direction the article must assume. Additionally I notice she wears "PokerStars" attire. If in fact she is a PokeStars Pro this is also notable. Major sponsorship is noteworthy, yet I see no attribution. Please look for and include aspects of her notability which demonstrate she is more that just a 1 time event. IF this can be done, the article is likely to be published. Submission moved[edit]

Hello Allyplayspoker. The submission for Breeze Zuckerman is now located at Wikipedia:Articles for creation/Breeze Zuckerman. If you have any questions regarding this move freely ask. And do get involved with the discussion when you see appropriateness. My76Strat 02:07, 6 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

{{helpme}} Hi...I need your help..Breeze Zuckerman, 2010 WSOP Last Woman Standing has cashed at the Bicycle Casino in a documented tournament in October 2010. Please let me know if this cash will allow me to continue with a Wiki article on her. She is now a professional poker player. Thank you! Allyplayspoker (talk) 18:48, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The same rules apply to all subjects; For inclusion, an article needs 'significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject' - WP:VRS.
Typically, that means three (or more) newspaper articles that are substantially about the person.  Chzz  ►  04:14, 16 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There are many magazine articles, online articles and newspaper articles on Breeze. Does this qualitfy? Thank you for your time and help. Allyplayspoker (talk) 18:49, 16 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please refer to Chzz' statement above... "an article needs significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject...Typically, that means three (or more) newspaper articles that are substantially about the person. Hope this helps, Shearonink (talk) 19:25, 16 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you...there are well over 10,000 articles on Breeze Zukerman... is that sufficient to continue with her Wiki page (with her new cashing in a documented tournament at the Bicycle Casino in October 2010)? Thank you! Allyplayspoker (talk) 23:35, 16 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I did not see 10,000 reliable sources in the course of my research on this matter. Also, according to WorldPokerRank Ms Zuckerman is presently unranked among the world's top players [1] plus PokerPages.Com
[2] has her ranked at 5135 (ProRank 1) and 19191(ProRank 2 Position). If you are interested in writing an article about Ms. Zuckerman, you need to find articles about her in magazines/newspapers, sourced profiles about her on TV shows, etc. The subject of an article in Wikipedia needs to be notable and when the article is the biography of a living person the referenced information has to be from high quality sources.
