Slap-down on RFC[edit]

@Almonaster: You've made seven edits, it doesn't appear as though you're even a member of a project and no notices have been placed on your talk page. Thanks for your advice, while well-intentioned, it's misplaced. Anyone can close an RfC if consensus is clear, so next time, be WP:BOLD and do it, however, I wonder how you decided to come to this particular RfC and voice that opinion. Feel free to explain on your talk page and leave me a ERROR: Please enter the username parameter when using the {{Talkback}} template - thus {{Talkback|<username>}}. notice, or just ignore me. Thanks. Walter Görlitz (talk) 06:24, 17 November 2015 (UTC)

@Walter Gorlitz: I got there via the Community Portal (which you linked to above) looking for useful things to do. Within the "Projects seeking help" section I found "Discussions in the following areas have requested wider attention via Requests for comment:" with the article you responded to listed under "Language and linguistics"

I, in turn find your response to be well-intentioned but misplaced. If you want to talk to me, please use my talk page - don't just slap a boilerplate template there but leave the substantive comment on a page I may not be watching.

Your remarks on my lack of editing history are semi-accurate, although as I stated on my user page "I've been making minor edits for years". The only relevance I can see is that as a new editor I might need encouragement. Your phrasing came across to me as "Hey n000b". You then appear to have your own personal protocol running on your talk page so I can't simply respond there, which I also find a bit hostile.

I was aware of WP:BOLD with respect to article edits. When it came to closing down a wikipedia-wide discussion, though, I was less clear about its applicability. Thank you for clearing that up.
