Bookworm44

{{User:DeltaQuad/talkdone|notdone}} You recently blocked 3 IP addresses as socks of Bookworm44. I deny being Bookworm44 but given the evidence you had available I can understand the mistake. I have requested CU confirmation that Bookworm44 or his known socks have previously edited using the IP ranges of my ISP which is Verizon wireless. If there is anything you can do to expedite that CU check it would be appreciated. --174.255.66.196 (talk) 18:09, 5 October 2011 (UTC)

Responding to RFCs

Remember that RFCs are part of Dispute Resolution and at times may take place in a heated environment. Please take a look at the relevant RFC page before responding and be sure that you are willing and able to enter that environment and contribute to making the discussion a calm and productive one focussed on the content issue at hand. See also Wikipedia:Requests for comment#Suggestions for responding.

Greetings! You have been randomly selected to receive an invitation to participate in the request for comment on Wikipedia talk:Criteria for speedy deletion. Should you wish to respond to the invitation, your contribution to this discussion will be very much appreciated! However, please note that your input will carry no greater weight than anyone else's: remember that an RFC aims to reach a reasoned consensus position, and is not a vote. In support of that, your contribution should focus on thoughtful evaluation of the issues and available evidence, and provide further relevant evidence if possible.

I would love to help you out, but i'm sorry at this point in my life i'm busy (see notice at top) and have very little time for Wikipedia other than how I already contribute. I think you would be better off with another mentor. Sorry to disappoint. -- DQ(t) [[Special:Emai(e) 13:54, 12 October 2011 (UTC)

Please review these blocks

{{User:DeltaQuad/talkdone}} There was a bug in MediaWiki 1.18 that caused blocks made via the API to have talk page access disabled when it should have been enabled. This also affected scripts such as User:Animum/easyblock.js. Please review the following blocks to make sure that you really intended talk page access to be disabled, and reblock if necessary.

Should all be fixed now. The only one I didn't correct was the compromised account, as it looks like you intended it there. Hersfold (t/a/c) 02:32, 14 October 2011 (UTC)

Bobmarley201111

{{User:DeltaQuad/talkdone}} Hello. I'm not sure if you recall this SP case from the other day, but you closed it due to what you felt was inconclusive evidence and suggested in the meantime that we assume good faith. Well the user appears to have returned with yet another SP account on the same article [1]. It seems highly unlikely that three consecutive accounts that have similar names, were recently created, write in the same style, have similar editing rationales, focus typically exclusively on the same unpopular page, where they only perform image edits and revert back to the same images on top of that would not belong to the same person. Could we perhaps do something here? If for whatever reason you are unable to, can you at least direct me to an administrator that maybe can? Soupforone (talk) 19:35, 16 October 2011 (UTC)

Disruptive Trolling Personal attacks. Nothing to see but a sock.
The following discussion has been closed. Please do not modify it.

-I am not a sockpuppet I've made it obvious Habitmeans383883=Bobmarley201111=Youngladladlad1911=Occurrules2013=driverock2013; I just forgot password every time. I am certainly not trying to masquerade as a different user when I am editing the same two pages at about the same time!I Have not violated the 3RR; but soupforone quite possibly has. Driverock2013 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 20:25, 16 October 2011 (UTC). Further, I believe Soupforone is violating WP: Ownership of articles in a very clear way in this article. And is violating WP: NPOV through insistence on including extremely unflattering photographs of different tribes; view the edit history where s/he has included colonial era bare-breasted photos of extremely old women; written on my talk page that "There are other issues, especially the lack of adequate physical representation of what most Bantus actually look like." Attempt to declare numerous uncontroversial photos for speedy deletion, to circumvent including representative photos of himba, congolese, fang (equatorial guinea) and other persons. It is very clear from his previous edits on "caucasian race," "ethiopid race" the "races of europe" (coon), "negro," "zanj," "al-habash," "barbara," "negroid race," "black people," "white flight," inclusion that the ethnic origins of the builders of "great zimbabwe" are "uncertain" in the bantu peoples article; "tutsi" etc. what exactly this POV of soupforone is. A very disgusting, racist, negrophobic one that should not be entertained, or at least, vaunted above other povs Driverock2013 (talk) 20:35, 16 October 2011 (UTC)

Besides the poorly thought-out, personal attacks and misrepresentations above, the user's latest Driverock2013 username has now also openly admitted to being all of the accounts previously reported in addition to two new ones [2]. Soupforone (talk) 21:52, 16 October 2011 (UTC)
Yep, if I had caught this before another admin had blocked, I would have agreed and blocked for you, but it's done. Sorry for the delay, but they are all blocked. Endorsed the SPI. -- DQ(t) [[Special:Emai(e) 23:55, 16 October 2011 (UTC)

Talk:Basket Zaragoza 2002: thanks

{{User:DeltaQuad/talkdone}} Thanks for the semi-protect on Talk:Basket Zaragoza 2002. We'll see if we can get this guy to sign up so we can start a conversation about how he can contribute constructively. I'll keep an eye out on the page and try to remember to request unprotection if we can start a productive conversation with the IP. Again, much thanks. • Hi, I'm ready for the weekly run. BTW there are a couple of improvements to it that would be really useful if you could do them. ϢereSpielChequers 09:58, 2 October 2011 (UTC)
Done Let me know what changes I could make and i'll see what I can do. (might even rewrite the code, not sure) -- DQ(t) [[Special:Emai(e) 13:42, 4 October 2011 (UTC)
Thanks, the most useful possible change would be to ignore wikilinks when checking for safe phrases. Currently the code is thrown by them - so for Tittle for example most of the pages that laboriously went into the safe pages list were ones which mentioned Y.A. Tittle, but as they were wikilinked they all had to be added as safe pages. There are some queries that I can't run because it would be too time consuming without this. For example forth is often a typo for fourth but there are so many articles linking to Forth Rail Bridge and Firth of Forth that it isn't feasible. P.S. I'm ready for another run. SfD - Portugal geography categories, closing clarification

{{User:DeltaQuad/talkdone}} Hi. I'm not sure what you mean by your closing at Wikipedia:Stub types for deletion/Log/2011/September#Portugal geography by District/Region categories. Looks like it is in favour of my first set of suggestions, but given no action have been taken I am unsure. Could you clarify, please? - Nabla (talk) 22:15, 23 October 2011 (UTC)

I knew I was being too lazy. :P Too lazy to do something about it though at the time. Modified text to be clear. -- DQ(t) [[Special:Emai(e) 22:45, 23 October 2011 (UTC)

Editing restriction on John Foxe

{{User:DeltaQuad/talkdone}} Can you please check out WP:AN3#User:John Foxe reported by User:FyzixFighter (Result: )? It is difficult to be able to tell what is intransigence, what is baiting by other editors, what is a legitimate partial revert while editing while technically disallowed (e.g., WP:WIKILAWYERing by the other side), etc. Thanks. Iamtrhino/Archive

{{User:DeltaQuad/talkdone}} What was this redirect/merge made? Iamtrhino's case isn't merged, and another sock of his, Abhinav008 (talk · contribs) is asking to be unblocked saying he didn't understand and will be good in the future. I was going to add the archive link but as it seems wrong don't want to at the moment. Dougweller (talk) 13:38, 28 October 2011 (UTC)

Just to say he's now been told that his only way forward is to accept the standard offer. Dougweller (talk) 14:53, 28 October 2011 (UTC)

Invitation from the Guild of Copy Editors

The Guild of Copy Editors invites you to participate in their November 2011 Backlog elimination drive, a month-long effort to reduce the size of the copy edit backlog. The drive begins on November 1 at 00:00 (UTC) and ends on November 30 at 23:59 (UTC). We will be tracking the number of 2010 articles (and specifically will be targeting the oldest three months), as we want to copy edit as many of these as possible. Barnstars will be awarded to anyone who copy edits more than 4,000 words, and special awards will be given to the top 5 in the following categories: "Number of articles", "Number of words", and "Number of articles of over 5,000 words". We hope to see you there! – Your drive coordinators: Diannaa, Chaosdruid, The Utahraptor, Slon02, and SMasters.
