Webhost/checkuser block

Could you take at look at the unblock request on User talk:Shahmalinda, please? I'm not sure what actions, if any, I should take. --SarekOfVulcan (talk) 19:14, 28 February 2015 (UTC)

@SarekOfVulcan: I've started to look into it, but I need to review it with fresh eyes, as things are more complicated than first sight. -- DQ (ʞlɐʇ) 05:20, 2 March 2015 (UTC)

A problem which is almost dealt with

Hello there! thank you for blocking Bergman Gotland and his sock, but he still continues to make disruptive edits from this one [12]. I would appreciate if you took care of this one too - good day to you!. --HistoryofIran (talk) 16:01, 3 March 2015 (UTC)

Aaaand another one [13] strikes :(. --HistoryofIran (talk) 17:09, 3 March 2015 (UTC)

Oversight

DQ, sorry I totally botched my recent Oversight request. (How did I forget to include links?! Idiotic!) Anyhow, I've replied via email with links. Sorry for the delay. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 19:49, 3 March 2015 (UTC)

No worries, your not the first nor the last. Looks like someone took care of it before I could get back to it. -- DQ (ʞlɐʇ) 18:40, 4 March 2015 (UTC)

Checkuser

DQ, is it too late to request a CU on another possible TyrusThomas4lyf sock account or do I have to file another SPI? Observer2015 (talk) 05:17, 4 March 2015 (UTC)

I really find the irony where socks are reporting socks. -- DQ (ʞlɐʇ) 18:41, 4 March 2015 (UTC)

Suggestion regarding DQB

Hello. I was patrolling user creation this morning and came across User:Wangmuncher90001234, which I reported to WP:UAA. I was surprised the bot had not picked up on it. I realize that "wang" is a common name in eastern Asia, but it is also a slang reference to "penis". I think the situation is similar to "anus", which is seen as a name or part of a name in south Asia. Perhaps the bot should pick up on "wang" with a low confidence? --Hammersoft (talk) 17:50, 4 March 2015 (UTC)

@Hammersoft: I usually try and keep clear of modifying the different lists that control the bot, unless I'm just helping with the syntax. The best place to ask for it is at WT:UAA. The reason for this is I rarely patrol UAA anymore, and I might not see a potential issue of a filter change. -- DQ (ʞlɐʇ) 18:44, 4 March 2015 (UTC)

Ping-Pong 6Flamingo (that's a weird subject line)

Hi DQ, not sure what to do here: I was about to file a new report at SPI on Ping-Pong-Ping-Pow as a sock of 6Flamingo, but @Coffee: beat me to it and blocked them as a sock on behavioral evidence. (Thanks for that, Coffee!) I noticed at Little Wizard Tao that this article hadn't been edited in about a year before the 6Flamingo socks, but the disruptions begin with MaelLePetitPrincePuisRoi, which suggests that he might be the sockmaster of this bunch, not 6Flamingo. (MaelLePetit intersects with Ping at Ella the Elephant and at Little Wizard Tao.) If he is, then we'd have to move the socks under that older account. Also, in the SPI I erroneously described MaelLePetitPrincePuisRoi as a confirmed sock of Maelbros, but I don't think that was confirmed. Is that possible? My hope would be that we can condense them if they are the same vandals. Lemme know what I can do here to make life easier. Thanks, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:13, 11 March 2015 (UTC)

Past blocks

You had made a number of blocks in past, targeting a particular editor in December 2012. There is a great likelyhood of sock puppetry that has been overlooked. Kindly check your email. Thank you. OccultZone (TalkContributionsLog) 08:04, 5 April 2015 (UTC)

Support request with team editing experiment project

Dear tech ambassadors, instead of spamming the Village Pump of each Wikipedia about my tiny project proposal for researching team editing (see here: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:IdeaLab/Research_team_editing), I have decided to leave to your own discretion if the matter is relevant enough to inform a wider audience already. I would appreciate if you could appraise if the Wikipedia community you are more familiar with could have interest in testing group editing "on their own grounds" and with their own guidance. In a nutshell: it consists in editing pages as a group instead of as an individual. This social experiment might involve redefining some aspects of the workflow we are all used to, with the hope of creating a more friendly and collaborative environment since editing under a group umbrella creates less social exposure than traditional "individual editing". I send you this message also as a proof that the Inspire Campaign is already gearing up. As said I would appreciate of *you* just a comment on the talk page/endorsement of my project noting your general perception about the idea. Nothing else. Your contribution helps to shape the future! (which I hope it will be very bright, with colors, and Wikipedia everywhere) Regards from User:Micru on meta.

Tirgil34 SPI

Hi, DeltaQuad. I've started a new SPI against Tirgil34 (talk · contribs). In the investigation i've quoted some earlier comments by you in order to justify a check on a couple of users. If you disapprove of this then just remove it. Given your earlier your success in checking Tirgil34 i would also encourage you to perform the check if this investigation is endorsed. Cheers. Checkuser block

Hi DQ. You blocked User:Sgdhffgj, who had removed an AN3 report against 115ash,[115] on 2 April. I suppose as a sock of 115ash? I ask because 115ash has again been blocked, by me, and I'm wondering if socking is in their repertoire. Bishonen | talk 09:59, 7 May 2015 (UTC).

I'd say they are two different people. -- DQ (ʞlɐʇ) 16:14, 7 May 2015 (UTC)

ARCA

Thank you for your support, but I am curious: how have I changed? I am not aware of it, possibly have a blind spot there ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:37, 30 May 2015 (UTC)

We should only write things referenced by reliable sources, how is this: either you provide one diff of an edit I made in the past which you think I should apologize for (and haven't), or you remove the part about me improving and simply support, as some of your colleagues? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:32, 31 May 2015 (UTC)

UTRS template

Hi DQ. I've got your User:DeltaQuad/UTRS Appeals page transcluded onto my to-do list, but it hasn't updated for weeks - just wondered if the bot behind it was down, or busy with other bot-things. No hurry to fix it (not for me, at least), simply idle curiosity. Yunshui  10:18, 17 June 2015 (UTC)

Not to worry, it seems to have resurrected itself today. Yunshui  07:50, 18 June 2015 (UTC)

Your signature

Hello there! I'm working on a project trying to bring most of the coding on Wikipedia up to the most current standards (HTML5), and I noticed that your signature is using <font>...</font> tags which were deprecated in HTML 4.0 Transitional, marked as invalid in 4.0 Strict, and are not part of HTML5 at all. I'd love to help you update your signature to use newer code, and if you're interested, I suggest replacing:

<span style="color:green;">DQ</span> <span style="color:blue;">(ʞlɐʇ)</span>

with:

<span style="color:green;">DQ</span> <span style="color:blue;">(ʞlɐʇ)</span>

which will result in a 119 character long signature with an appearance of: DQ (ʞlɐʇ) compared to your existing 105 character long signature of: DQ (ʞlɐʇ) — Either way. Happy editing! (tJosve05a (c) 13:50, 27 June 2015 (UTC)

@Josve05a: Thanks, and  Done. Thought I kept my "--" :P -- DQ (ʞlɐʇ) 23:38, 28 June 2015 (UTC)

Chris?

In you recent arb-vote you refer to "Chris." For the sake of the record and those who don't know who Chris is, could you just use the Username? Thanks. Alanscottwalker (talk) 00:13, 29 June 2015 (UTC)

@Alanscottwalker: My apologies. When you see their real name on the Arbitration email lists every day, it makes associations, and his username is harder to type anyway :P. I didn't even think about when I wrote it. Anyway, fixed, and i'll try and remember in the future. -- DQ (ʞlɐʇ) 00:20, 29 June 2015 (UTC)
