Best of luck Mr Amanda. I want to help you as i am also starting a private project in wikipedia

Kranthi Bold text So based on this guys article (if I have the terminology incorrect forgive me) User:Haikupoet/Wehatetech_trainwreck SEE it really is for the technical who's its! I say it's biased to be providing all this information written on such a technical level! I was extremely excited when I was first introduced to Wikipedia now, well lets just say I love the idea; however, it needs an outsiders light. Seems like too many of the "Old Boy's Club" are flexing their manly muscles (just in case) ohh my

I'm finished

I think I hate Wiki already[edit]

It seems to me that in order to understand a damn word anyone types around here you have to be a professional of some sort! Maybe I'm breaking the wikipedia rules by providing my opinon, but I blame it on the fact that

I DONT UNDERSTAND THE RULES BECAUSE THEY NEED TO HAVE IT ALL WRITTEN OUT FOR DUMMIES

grrr

but I do understand that you much SIGN each of your little contributions, I think I need to learn how to make a competing wikipedia called wikipedia for dummies... I bet it would do better!

PS your boot camp stinks!

ohh look in a matter of seconds I found sites devoted to people like me [1]

A welcome from Sango123[edit]

Hello, Amanda Pachal, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions; I hope you like the place and decide to stay. We're glad to have you in our community! Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Though we all make goofy mistakes, here is what Wikipedia is not. If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to see the help pages or add a question to the village pump. The Community Portal can also be very useful.

Happy editing!

P.S. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you need help with anything or simply wish to say hello. :)

Hi Amanda[edit]

I'm new too just like you with lots of questions but with some persistence I bet we can both get this down. By the way, what areas are you most interested in contributing to on Wikipedia? -- Whane 23:25, 17 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hi again. Just a note here. Thanks for contributing to my talk page, but it would appear that you unintentionally left your message on my user page. It's no big deal as I am still learning how to set it up and my user page does in fact resemble a talk page, but I just thought I would let you know for future refererence, seeing that this is a learning experience for both of us. Just note the tabs above and be sure you are on the "discussion" page. Also, when on the discussion page I have found that there is a little "+" tab that is not available when viewing a user page. that plus sign is used to leave a new message, however some talk pages have a nifty little "leave a new message" link or something similar. So should you find that the only way you can leave a message is to "edit this page", then you are more than likely viewing the user page. -- Whane 00:07, 18 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ahh another example ...[edit]

ta daaa my point has been proven! Thanks ... and sorry about that! Amanda Pachal 00:16, 18 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No worries. :) -- Whane 00:35, 22 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

How's the Wiki coming?[edit]

I just wanted to see if you were still around; getting paid to learn Wiki. :-) -- Whane 01:03, 28 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No secrets for me, I'm just fluent when it comes to using PC's in general and have a tiny bit of experience in developing web sites so a new site/concept is just a matter of tweaking what I already know. For example: I know it's easier to copy an existing template than to recreate one. I have some future plans for Wiki too, but they are far off and in the meantime, I'm always trying to learn something new. Currently that includes Wiki, and CSS and so I use wikipedia to learn wiki and myspace to sample my CSS attempts. -- Whane 22:14, 6 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Survey[edit]

Hi Amanda!

I have put together a survey for female editors of Wikipedia (and related projects) in order to explore, in greater detail, women's experiences and roles within the Wikimedia movement. It'd be wonderful if you could participate!

It's an independent survey, done by me, as a fellow volunteer Wikimedian. It is not being done on behalf of the Wikimedia Foundation. I hope you'll participate!

Just click this link to participate in this survey, via Google!

Any questions or concerns, feel free to email me or stop by my user talk page. Also, feel free to share this any other female Wikimedians you may know. It is in English, but any language Wikimedia participants are encouraged to participate. I appreciate your contributions - to the survey and to Wikipedia! Thank you! There's a new bonus prize of $200 worth of books of your choice to win for creating the most new women biographies between 0:00 on the 26th and 23:59 on 30th November.
