Why can't I edit some particular pages?
Some pages that have been vandalized repeatedly are semi-protected, meaning that editing by new or unregistered users is prohibited through technical measures. If you have an account that is four days old and has made at least 10 edits, then you can bypass semi-protection and edit any semi-protected page. Some pages, such as highly visible templates, are fully-protected, meaning that only administrators can edit them. If this is not the case, you may have been blocked or your IP address caught up in a range block.
Where can I experiment with editing Wikipedia?
How do I create an article?
See how to create your first article, then use the Article Wizard to create one, and add references to the article as explained below.
How do I create citations?
  1. Do a search on Google or your preferred search engine for the subject of the Wikipedia article that you want to create a citation for.
  2. Find a website that supports the claim you are trying to find a citation for.
  3. In a new tab/window, go to the citation generator, click on the 'An arbitrary website' bubble, and fill out as many fields as you can about the website you just found.
  4. Click the 'Get reference wiki text' button.
  5. Highlight, and then copy (Ctrl+C or Apple+C), the resulting text (it will be something like <ref> {{cite web | .... }}</ref>, copy the whole thing).
  6. In the Wikipedia article, after the claim you found a citation for, paste (Ctrl+V or Apple+V) the text you copied.
  7. If the article does not have a References or Notes section (or the like), add this to the bottom of the page, but above the External Links section and the categories:
==References==
{{Reflist}}
What is a WikiProject, and how do I join one?
A WikiProject is a group of editors that are interested in improving the coverage of certain topics on Wikipedia. (See this page for a complete list of WikiProjects.) If you would like to help, add your username to the list that is on the bottom of the WikiProject page.

Image files on Biology Articles[edit]

Hello! I noticed you've been adding image files to biology articles, like Theodoxus altenai, Temnosternus, and Zachrysia auricoma. When you add the image in the infobox, it's not necessary to make it a thumbnail image. This edit might be a helpful example. Please let me know if I can provide any additional explanations! Thanks! - tucoxn\talk 17:08, 6 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Image additions[edit]

Hi Aminwa, I appreciate you are taking part in some kind of contest to add lots of images to articles, but please be more careful how and where you place them, and only add items that are clearly relevant to the article. For example, [1] addition was barely pertinent to the article, and broke its layout. Things like adding an image of the author to an article about one of their works may sometimes be okay, but in such cases please make sure you add a correct and informative caption – e.g. this is clearly not "Il Filostrato". Fut.Perf. 10:17, 13 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ditto to the Pam Ferris photo that was included on the Miss Trunchbull article. I deleted that photo, as it's more relevant to Pam Ferris (which you added the photo to already. If the photo were from the time period when the movie Matilda was released, it may be more appropriate. --PerpetuityGrat (talk) 13:07, 17 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Am sorry for the inconveniences, but I still didn't understand the part of Pam Ferris,I know I added image that I saw for that particular article 🤦 Aminwa 21 (talk) 09:49, 19 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Am still a newbie,help me understand better. Aminwa 21 (talk) 09:50, 19 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

SPI[edit]

You are suspected of sockpuppetry, which means that someone suspects you of using multiple Wikipedia accounts for prohibited purposes. Please make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, then, if you wish to do so, respond to the evidence at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Aminwa 21. Thank you. Can you explain why you have added an image of Miconia papillosa to this article (two times now). Thanks, Declangi (talk) 19:08, 26 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Just a followup here to say that I've now removed the image of Miconia papillosa from the Miconia griffisii article. They are two different species. Declangi (talk) 22:25, 28 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Aminwa, you need to address these concerns, or you might be blocked. Drmies (talk) 21:19, 29 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Am just seeing this now. When I was editing the articles(Miconia griffisii and Miconia papillosa),the two articles had a picture on the wikimedia commons( which I didn't know were the same).

But I have been briefed on how to ensure the addition of right/proper picture for an article.

Forgive my late response,it wasn't intentional. Aminwa 21 (talk) 13:07, 30 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Caught by an open proxy block but this host or IP is not an open proxy. My IP address is 102.89.42.132 I haven't used any VPN or IP changing service, maybe the previous customer who was assigned my IP address ran such services. I hope for a rapid investigation. Aminwa 21 (talk) 10:44, 23 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Confirmed p2p proxy and you have been able to edit since making this request. Yamla (talk) 12:06, 23 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Response = I have two service providers, MTN Nigeria and Airtel, when I got blocked due to an issue with my IP address (for the MTN) that I was unaware of, I decided to use my other network provider (Airtel) to see what the outcome would be, just for me to discover that my IP address for Airtel is secured. [[Aminwa 21 (talk) 12:35, 23 August 2023 (UTC)]][reply]

Yes. That's a confirmed p2p proxy. See Template:Blocked p2p proxy for more details. --Yamla (talk) 12:37, 23 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Unformatted images[edit]

Hi! You're adding a lot of images. Please make sure that all that you add are properly formatted (unless they're in an infobox or table they'll normally need the code |thumb). I've reverted some where you didn't, such as Édouard de Pomiane. Thanks, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 07:35, 27 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Alright. I have noted the correction. Thanks. Aminwa 21 (talk) 11:11, 27 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Image Captions[edit]

Hey nice job adding the needed image at Alex Baudin but could you also add an image caption. Thanks Paulpat99 (talk) 23:44, 1 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
