The internet cops just deleted most of our entire description of the Mosque project.

Please contact Wikipedia to protest biased and selective nature of their editing policies, as they reduced a 6,000 bit document down to 500, within moments of my updating the article, and long after it had been hosted on the internet for over 5 months.

This was done without an explanation, justification, or even an contact email, as to how the content could be made appropriate for this forum.

A great disservice to the image of Wikipedia as a "free" encyclopedia, the price we pay is that our content must adhere to subjective, selective, convoluted polices applied in a discriminatory manner.

Re: Heavy handed[edit]

If you are referring to this edit, I removed the content that was unsuited to an encyclopedia article. Articles must be written in a neutral manner, not in a way that is perceived to advertise or promote the subject. Claims also have to be reliably sourced; statements like Masjid Al-Islam is nestled in a serene and peaceful setting just two blocks from the Pacific Ocean. and Modeled on Islamic values the local Muslim Community is diverse and universal in its demographic make-up. are difficult to back up with sources. The Operation Fooddrop section would also need a source. The rest of the content I removed was trivial information such as the worship schedule. In summary, the article looked more like a replacement web page than an encyclopedia article. (And speaking of which, the web page address provided for the mosque was a parked domain and so not very useful). ... discospinster talk 14:05, 2 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
