February 2014[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Leanne Brown (musician) has been reverted.
Your edit here to Leanne Brown (musician) was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://www.facebook.com/leannebrownofficial) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 00:10, 12 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Leanne Brown (musician) may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:

Take a look[edit]

Your contribs do not meet wikistyle. Take a look at good articles, e. g. Adam Green (musician). Read How to develop an article --Frze > talk 13:25, 13 February 2014 (UTC) |} Ok, I will develop the article. Thanks![reply]

Deletion[edit]

Hi Andy, thanks for message. I deleted your article because

  • The article was a copyright violation. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy. That applies even to pages created by you or your organisation, unless they state clearly and explicitly that the text is public domain. In this case the copied site explicitly said Pure Djs Agency © Copyright, 2014. There are ways to donate copyrighted text to Wikipedia, as described here; please note that simply asserting on the talk page that you are the owner of the copyright, or you have permission to use the text, isn't sufficient.
  • it did not provide adequate independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. It is now Wikipedia policy that biographical articles about living people must have independent verifiable references, or they will be deleted. Although you gave three references, one was dead, the others did not support most of the text. The copied page, the actual source of the text, is clearly not a neutral independent source.
  • I'm not convinced that she meets the notability criteria linked above anyway, none of her releases seem to have achieved much except Flowers - one-hit wonder?
  • This is an encyclopaedia. It's not intended as a free advertising platform (and a link to her booking agent is never going to be appropriate).
  • You have an obvious conflict of interest when it comes to editing articles about this subject. Thank you for declaring your interest. If, after reading the information about notability linked above, you still believe that she is notable enough for a Wikipedia article (and that there is significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources), you could, if you wish, post a request at Wikipedia:Requested articles for the article to be created. See also Wikipedia:Best practices for editors with conflicts of interest.
  • A minor thing, "External links" should have one link to her official site, anyone wanting the social media etc stuff can pick it up from there.

Jimfbleak - talk to me? 07:17, 15 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It's sometimes the case that where a group is notable but some of its members may not be notable independently of the group that the simplest solution is just a redirect to the group article. I don't claim to be an expert on music, but it's not clear which of the music criteria she qualifies under, and I don't want to waste your time if you can't shoehorn her into one of the relevant notability criteria. If the article's other problems can be fixed, it may be that her membership of a notable group might be enough, and reviewers tend to be more generous with borderline notability if the text is otherwise encyclopaedic. If you can reference the Novello awards, that would help. Similarly, if you can show why the compilations were notable, that would be good Jimfbleak - talk to me? 07:03, 16 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Picture of Sweet Female Attitude in 2017.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Picture of Sweet Female Attitude in 2017.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ronhjones  (Talk) 15:11, 26 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
