Lo Piccolo images[edit]

The images Image:Lo_Piccolo_photofit.jpg and Image:Lo_Piccolo_arrest.jpg have been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please see the discussion (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. - Mafia Expert (talk) 13:22, 15 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Congrats[edit]

The TomStar81 Spelling Award
Be it known to all members of Wikipedia that Andreas Toth has corrected my god-awful spelling on the page User:TomStar81/Bio, and in doing so has made an important and very significant contribution to the Wikipedia community, thereby earning this TomStar81 Spelling Award and my deepest thanks. Keep up the good work! TomStar81 (Talk) 04:38, 17 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reference previewing[edit]

I agree no direct method of seeing how a footnote added when editing a section will appear in the reference section at the end of an article. One, less than perfect method, is:

  1. temporarily add a <references/> tag at the bottom of the section being edited,
  2. Click on "show preview" to see how it will appear
  3. Remember to remove the <references/> tag before clicking on "Save page".

The footnote that you added to Staphylococcus aureus can be improved in a number of ways:

  • The original:
  • Firstly use of enclosing single square bracket will show the page title as alternative text to the url address
  • Alternatively, use a citation template to do all the formating for us, in this case {{cite news}} serves our purpose.
    • So, from the BBC webpage we can fill in: {{cite news |author= |title=Essential oils 'combat superbug' |url=http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/manchester/6471475.stm |publisher=BBC News |date=20 March 2007 |accessdate=2008-04-15 }}
    • Displayed as: "Essential oils 'combat superbug'". BBC News. 20 March 2007. Retrieved 2008-04-15.

Edits to Theodore Kaczynski[edit]

Hi Andreas,

Thanks for your edits to Theodore Kaczynski, shown in the history. Please could you remember to use edit summaries as per WP:FILLINEDITSUMMARY when you edit an article so it is easier for everyone to understand the changes you have made, especially on a protected article where there is conflict such as this one? Cheers, Bigger digger (talk) 11:01, 7 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

May 2009[edit]

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Please don't forget to provide an edit summary, as you forgot on your recent edit to FontForge. Thank you. Oneiros (talk) 20:48, 19 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

WP:NOADS[edit]

Please do not advertise products, as you did twice for VMWare on Talk:Windows Virtual PC. Also realize that Wikipedia isn't a forum, and that includes tech support discussion.Jasper Deng (talk) 00:20, 13 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for November 3[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited PlayStation Jailbreak, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Mods. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
