Deletion

Why did you delete my page for Ian Ranft? he is a legitimate comic book character of mine. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Beanierickshaw (talkcontribs)

The subject matter of the article is not notable enough to warrant inclusion in this encyclopedia, and the page has twice been deleted. Do not create it again. —Animum (talk) 01:34, 2 August 2008 (UTC)

Many thanks!

Thank you...

...for participating in my RfA, which closed with 119 in support, 4 neutral and 5 opposes. I'm honestly overwhelmed at the level of support that I've received from the community, and will do my best to maintain the trust placed in me. I 'm also thankful to those who opposed or expressed a neutral position, for providing clear rationales and superb feedback for me to build on. I've set up a space for you to provide any further feedback or thoughts, should you feel inclined to. However you voted, thanks for taking the time out to contribute to the process, it's much appreciated. Kind regards, Gazimoff 22:50, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for checking my spelling

It has been two days, and I finally saw your little edit to my user page. Thanks for the spelling correction. Have a nice day! - LA (T) 06:56, 3 August 2008 (UTC)

Hehe, no problem. Animum (talk) 17:04, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
It was just by chance that I came back here to see your reply. There is this neat little template called {{talkback}} that you might want to look into for keeping conversations in one place while making sure that all those involved are kept in the loop. Give it a look see. :) - LA (T) 04:13, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

Easyblock.js

Hey, dude. Very nice work with this script. Would it be possible when blocking a user, though, to not create a userpage with {{indefblocked}}; to only replace an existing userpage if it exists already? I imagine that it would be useful to create the page to add a sock template if needed, so that's fine, but for the run-of-the-mill vandal, creating the userpage only means that some admin (or adminbot or whatever) will have to delete it later. Hopefully – really hopefully; I have no idea – it wouldn't be too difficult to put in an ifexist (or similar) bit. Thanks for your help, and again, very nice script. WODUP 07:08, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

checkY Done Animum (talk) 22:48, 7 August 2008 (UTC)
Cool! Thanks! WODUP 04:03, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
Didn't work, though. WODUP 04:57, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
checkY Fixed and thoroughly tested on my alternate/abused account. —Animum (talk) 20:39, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
I get it to block the user, and it says
Adding "{{subst:uw-voablock|subst=subst:|sig=y}}" to User talk:WODUPpuppet...
WODUPpuppet has been blocked and warned.
Adding "{{indefblockeduser}}" to User:WODUPpuppet... aborting, as page has not yet been created.
now, but it doesn't actually notify the user. It doesn't add the sock template when blocking as a sock either, but it's still good to have a way to quickly block without having to click all of those options on the block form. Still a very useful script. :) Thanks, WODUP 03:20, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
Heh, seeing as my mind works in unorthodox ways, I neglected to see that I could have just taken out the {{indefblockeduser}} bit entirely before. :-P —Animum (talk) 03:30, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
Banana-flavored Oreos as thanks for your work on the easyblock script. WODUP 04:14, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
Works perfectly now. Thank you for your help. :D WODUP 04:14, 10 August 2008 (UTC)

How far do these indents go, anyway?  Asenine  20:53, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
As far as one likes, but I prefer to stop at approximately six or seven colons. Animum (talk) 21:01, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
Holy cow, I've never seen anyone use that noindent template.  Asenine  21:10, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
Heh. Shouldn't we be working on the 200-some-odd articles left before the 2.5 million mark? :-P —Animum (talk) 21:14, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, I know. I figured I could be funny. (Don't you dare say, "Well, you were wrong.") :-P —Animum (talk) 22:50, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

I might finally be able to join the exclusive OMG I CREATED A GOOD ARTICLE BOW DOWN TO ME OR ELSE VERY BAD CONSEQUENCES WILL FOLLOW er, I mean, the good article club.

More vandalism by 125.236.220.152

125.236.220.152 has been vandalizing again. See the Cindy Crawford article. I've reversed the damage, but may I suggest another block? Thanks. Diderot's dreams (talk) 17:10, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

Image log

Hey Animum, I need Image:Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games.jpg to have its FUR checked in comparison to Image:Mario & Sonic.jpg. « ₣M₣ » 22:21, 23 August 2008 (UTC)

I'm afraid I don't do too much image work, but I can tell you that both of their rationales were based on being a video game cover. I can't find any other similarities, so if you believe this isn't sufficient, you should ask another administrator. Best, —Animum (talk) 23:37, 23 August 2008 (UTC)

Soylent Green

Hey there! The only reason I insert those "wrong queue" jokes in the RfA is because I thought it was monotonous to have variations on the same answer in the support column (I never do that in Oppose or Neutral votes). Some people have found it funny, but if you don't think it is appropriate, I can stop. (Though I enjoyed your funnier response.) Thanks. Ecoleetage (talk) 03:21, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

Heh, no, I have no problem with it at all. I incorporated WP:TROUT into it because I was tired and I couldn't think of anything else. Animum (talk) 00:11, 26 August 2008 (UTC)

Admin(imum) age

Hi Animum, you mentioned the other day on AN that there was some current controversy about admins' age. If there have been recent discussions of this, could you point me to them? I would be interested in reading up on what pro and con arguments have been made. Cheers, Jayen466 23:00, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

The most recent thorough discussion was at WT:RFA a few months ago, and is available here; I'm sure there have been smaller mentions of it since then, but, given your request, I don't think they would be as detailed as you would like. Yours, —Animum (talk) 00:10, 26 August 2008 (UTC)
Thanks a lot. <Taking deep breath and getting ready to read through the small print ...> Cheers, Jayen466 00:22, 26 August 2008 (UTC)
