Thanks for your message about this article. I see your point - that there aren't actually many articles where a link to it would be relevant, and introducing it where it's not relevant would look like spamming. I think simply adding it to extra categories would be sufficient. The purpose of the 'orphan' template is to encourage people to add more links so the page can be found more easily, but if there actually aren't any pages that make sense to link to this one, then don't worry about it. Terraxos (talk) 19:24, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, feel free to remove the template if you think it's no longer needed. Terraxos (talk) 19:38, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Scramble (magazine), an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Scramble (magazine). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 19:49, 13 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (File:Cover scramble magazine.jpg)[edit]

However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Thanks for your note. The photo is useful, and may show a wrecked PA-35 in a field near a telephone pole, but it doesn't prove that Piper had a cooperation program with WSK Mielec, where the team was assembled, who its head was, what the plans were, or that the aircraft was moved to the Technical University in Rzeszów. As explained at WP:V a reference is required for all that text or it can be challenged and removed. - Ahunt (talk) 22:57, 10 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It is the whole paragraph that needs refs to support it, which is why the tag is at the end of it. - Ahunt (talk) 01:06, 11 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Laon-Couvron versus Laon-Chambry[edit]

Hi there. Saw your note and looked at some imagery.

First off, the information was obtained from this book: McAuliffe, Jerome J. (2005). US Air Force in France 1950-1967. San Diego, California: Milspec Press,Chapter 13, Laon-Couvron Air Base. ISBN 0-9770371-1-8.

Looking at the images, which I posted up on pic paste, a free image website. Took two image snaps. (Just double click on the image it will zoom in to a higher resolution)

http://picpaste.com/laon-grass-airfield-DtJmLriF.jpg is the airfield you mentioned in your note. Was unaware of it before.

And here is Laon Air Base: http://picpaste.com/laon-air-base-gyfSPzX3.jpg

I don't know anything about the history of the grass airstrip, it's history could have been a prewar airfield, as that was common in the 1930's .. "Airfield" comes from that exact reason, no runways, and the pilot just pointed the plane into the wind on the field and just took off on the grass in that direction.

On the image of Laon Air Base I've moved the center off to the west and south a bit to focus on the long asphalt access road to the south of the station which runs basically WNW/ESE and off to the west, behind the station area you can see an old hard surfaced area that runs NNE/SSE that intersects the first access road.

Those look like old runways that one was converted to an access road, and the other, deteriorated now may have been another. According to what I've learned about the base, it was pretty torn up after the war and when it was redeveloped in the early 1950s, not much had been done with it after the war was over.

It looks like the Americans designed a new Jet runway and dispersal pads on some farmland and just cleared off the rubble of the old base and build a new station there. It appears that the wartime runways used by the Germans were basically just abandoned or reused as an access road. Cheaper to leave them and just build from scratch. Anyway, as I said I don't know anything about the airfield you pointed out, and perhaps it has a military history, as many of these bases had sub-fields and auxiliaries, and it's definitely close enough to be one of the current base, or vice versa..

But as I said, Took the information from the McAuliffe book. He sells that online actually. Just post the title in google and you should find his website. Take care and maybe talk later Bwmoll3 (talk) 22:51, 25 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Agadir – Al Massira Airport incidents[edit]

Why did you do this edit- http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Agadir_%E2%80%93_Al_Massira_Airport&diff=prev&oldid=408420163

Fatal incidents involving an airport are encyclopedic and notable. Any further removal of such information will get you reported for vandalism- William 12:05, 11 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. In 1937 in aviation, you recently added a link to the disambiguation page Aviación Nacional (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. For more information, see the FAQ or drop a line at the DPL WikiProject.
