A tag has been placed on Shep crawford, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Sorry my friend, but Wikipedia is not the place for you to self-promote. Nor will vandalizing policy pages be allowed to stand. Please do not continue this behaviour once the block expires. Resolute 04:36, 12 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I do not believe "vandalizing" is the right word. This editor did not make "a deliberate attempt to compromise the integrity of Wikipedia". But they did display an outstanding level of incompetence. The block is fully justified. Maproom (talk) 09:50, 4 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on your user page, User:Anthony "Pastor Shep" Crawford, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be blatant advertising which only promotes or publicises a company, product, group or service, and which is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages; user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

If you can indicate why the page is not blatant advertising, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: Click here to contest this speedy deletion which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy deletion candidate). Doing so will take you to your user talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also edit this page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would help make it encyclopedic. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Theroadislong (talk) 13:02, 4 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Help me![edit]

Why was this page deleted? As well as the other one named Anthony "Shep" Crawford. I have been trying to create a page for my boss and have been experiencing all type of issues such as being blocked or the page being deleted. The last message I received stated it was deleted because I was trying to advertise and that was not the case. Please Advise

Please help me with...

While I can't see the deleted page, it's worth noting that you created it in the 'project' namespace (the 'Wikipedia' prefix) instead of as an actual article. The issues you describe (and your stated desire to create a page for your boss) would indicate that you have a misunderstanding of the purpose of Wikipedia... a person is only a suitable topic for an article if they are already notable, as shown by that they have been covered by reliable sources with no connection to them (such as the news media) in some degree of depth. It's also greatly preferred, to be honest, that articles are not written by people with a connection to the subject... that you are trying to write about your boss strongly suggests that you are unlikely to be writing in the kind of 'neutral' tone that is appropriate. The type of material found on an 'about me' or 'about us' page is generally considered to be promotional here.
If you really wish to continue with this, first you need to read the Username policy, as it is specifically not allowed to have an account named for a specific identifiable person if you are not actually verifiably that person.... this account could actually be blocked on merely that basis. Then you should use the WP:Article Wizard to create a 'draft' article, and submit it to 'Articles for Creation' for feedback and approval by experienced editors. Using that process does not at all guarantee that the article will be created, but you will at least get feedback, and if the person is a suitable subject for an article (and the issue is a matter of tone) then you will have the opportunity to make changes based on that feedback without it being deleted.
You can also request that another editor write about the subject at WP:Requested articles... that does not mean it will definitely happen, but there are people who look there for potential topics, who have experience with the type of writing that is considered acceptable.
Do not continue simply trying to 'do it anyway' by recreating pages after they have been deleted... that will simply result in escalating levels of blocks, and possibly in the article being protected from creation by anyone other than an administrator. Such actions are considered disruptive. Reventtalk 08:12, 4 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

As you can see this is a page that I have been trying to help create for almost a year. I will admit that I was not fully aware of the restrictions and/or requirements. So I would like to know what next steps can be taken to have the block removed and have an unbiased person create the wiki for Shep Crawford. My intention was not to be doing anything fraudulent or untruthful. I thought that what I was saying would help me get the page up. Now that I have read the articles and guidelines I now understand that I am not the person who can write this article. So please advise on what needs to be done. I don't feel he showed be punished or restricted from having this page created properly due to my lack of knowledge and research — Preceding unsigned comment added by Anthony "Pastor Shep" Crawford (talkcontribs) }}subst:spa|Anthony "Pastor Shep" Crawford}}

Crawford is not being punished. If and when somebody who doesn't work for or with him, somebody who could demonstrate a neutral point of view and is not attempting to promote him or his work, then they could write an article right now (although I'd suggest they do it as a draft article, so that it could be criticized and polished before being published). Obviously, you (Brandy Florence) are not that person. This account, since it has his name on it, is not going to be unblocked ever, no way; but if the human being Brandy Florence wants to have a new account here (as User:BrandyFlorence or User:BrandyYou'reAFineGirl or User:Old-FashionedLady or whatever you choose) and edit other articles not related to Pastor Shep, why lord knows you'd be very welcome. --Orange Mike | Talk 20:24, 4 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I added this 'template' here specifically for the links in the second paragraph. Please read them. Reventtalk 08:17, 4 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been blocked indefinitely because this name is an impersonation of your boss, on whose behalf you have repeatedly attempted to create spammy and promotional articles (see our blocking and username policies for more information).

We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia, but users are not allowed to edit with inappropriate usernames and we do not tolerate 'bad faith' editing such as trolling or other disruptive behavior. If you think there are good reasons why these don't describe your account, or why you should be unblocked, you are welcome to appeal this block – read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the end of your user talk page.

Please help me with...Yes he is a very notable well known music producer so I am not sure what the issue is, I have read other wiki pages such as Warryn Cambell or Timberland and they have about us sections as well. So is it that I need to change the verbiage overall. The page was originally Anthony Shep Crawford, but once that was blocked and then when I tried to log in the password didn't work so I created a new one. Please advise on what else I need to do or how I can get help with getting this page written correctly and published

We cannot read your mind, so providing links to what you are discussing is helpful.
There are over 4 million articles on Wikipedia - and many of them are bad. So just because you have seen something somewhere else, it doesn't mean that what you saw is an appropriate model. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 02:16, 3 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
