Editwar

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

Why dont you do a bit work on finding out a 'person'ification in any magazines or literature or aks scholars from the region? If you want this incorrect entry to be there, let it be there as a proof of something.

Garcinia gummi-gutta edit

On my talk page, you commented about this edit for which I had left a revert summary that the sources were spam. This is a particularly egregious source, as it is just a non-expert blog with extensive misinformation about human health and disease - read WP:MEDRS for the quality of sources required for medical content. This is a commercial site, not peer-reviewed for content accuracy and not reliable. Even if the sources were being used for regional names, it remains our editorial obligation to use WP:RS sources to support content. Further, I dispute that these non-English names are useful for the English encyclopedia. Zefr (talk) 05:29, 7 October 2021 (UTC)

Thank you for you reply. First of all dont be the WP:FUN POLICE. A simple google search provides un countable number of peer reviewed research papers mentioning the regional names. Reverting good faith edits is easy. You could have added and additional citation required tag. Second, English is the lingua franca of the world. I personally am from the region the tree is native to and I live in Canada. It is not just medicinal, it is a common ingredient in many food recipes from the sub continent. People like me, when the ingredient is required, goes first to Wikipedia, the knowledge base of the world for information and it is not there. I personally was looking for the ingredient and couldn't find it as it is sold in regional names in shops not by scientific names. We are building something to help people with information here. I understand your point, but these regional names are not common in English, so are low in WP:WEIGHT, and are more associated with dictionary content (WP:NOTDICTIONARY) and recipes (WP:NOTRECIPE), and therefore are unencyclopedic. I trimmed the sources you added as either redundant for names or emphasizing folk medicine uses, which are misleading quackery. Zefr (talk) 16:49, 7 October 2021 (UTC)
