What's going on?[edit]

Hi - you're making lots of changes to infoboxes of various species of animals, but the ones I've checked don't align with the content of the articles. These are FAs and GAs, they've been extensively vetted - why are you changing them without discussion? Girth Summit (blether) 18:59, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I’m actually doing nothing expect modifying the articles, all I did was just put temporal ranges. AnuranEmpire (talk) 19:01, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

At Frog, you put '265' as the earliest fossil - why did you do that?
At Blue whale, you changed Middle Pleistocene to Early Pleistocene - why did you do that? Girth Summit (blether) 19:05, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

In frog the most earliest ancestors/origin who is about 265 million years ago in the Permian period way before the dinosaurs. Normal frogs appeared on the 200 million years during the Early Jurassic period. And blue whale when I was editing it says about 1.5 million years ago so I thought it was pretty much sensible to put it in early. And while they go and change blue whale to middle. I don’t want you to revert my edits, its kind of annoying. So, please don’t. AnuranEmpire (talk) 19:16, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I'm a site administrator: I'm afraid I check up on what people are doing, and revert it if it's harmful.
The Frog article does not say anywhere in it that the earliest fossil records go back to 265 million years.
Deciding for yourself that it seems sensible to say 'middle' - that needs to come from a cited source. If you tell me that you have checked the source supporting the assertion, and that it says middle, then we are getting somewhere. Otherwise, don't make the change.
Seriously - these are some of the most carefully vetted articles on the project. I'm not saying that they can't be improved, but they should be approached carefully, and only after you have read the relevant sources. Please consider this a warning - if you don't stop making changes like this, I'll block your account from editing. Girth Summit (blether) 19:25, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

August 27 2020[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a message letting you know that one or more of your recent edits to Hinata Hyuga have been undone by an automated computer program called ClueBot NG.

Thank you. ClueBot NG (talk) 19:00, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Frog, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Girth Summit (blether) 19:00, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Clue bot, I’m sorry but are you daft. Hinata say Naruto all the time. Also I’ll take a break from editing characters. AnuranEmpire (talk) 19:03, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

What’s going on II[edit]

Forgive me, but do you know well the Blue Whale is in the middle Pleistocene. I just went into infobox and and saw it existed 1,000,000 1/2 years ago so I decided to make it public. You’re actually reverting my edits almost for no reason and now you’re threatening me with blocking. How do you feel now that you’re admin and even if I’m trying to give my points, you’re threatening me. But sooner, I will give lesser words now that you might block me for no reason for personal causes. AnuranEmpire (talk) 19:34, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

OK, let's start from the beginning. Which source tells you that it should be the early Pleistocene for the Blue Whale - where is that coming from? Girth Summit (blether) 19:36, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Forgive me, it was not early. I meant to say the Calabrian. But the Chibanian was called middle although it doesn’t align with blue whale. Early is not aligning with the blue whale. So is Calabria middle or early AnuranEmpire (talk) 19:39, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

But what source is that coming from? Everything you change in an article needs to be supported by a reliable source. You can't just change stuff based on things you know - you need to show where the information is coming from.
Also, if you make a change in the infobox, you need to change the information in the body of the article as well, because the infobox is intended just to be a summary of the article.
So, again - where is your information coming from? If it's correct, I'll help you change it properly - but you can't just change stuff willy-nilly, as you were doing earlier. Girth Summit (blether) 19:43, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Since when does Wikipedian say willy-nilly? Thanks for please see in grammar well to recognizable for me to see. I’ll basically see some source stating the blue whales temporal range. AnuranEmpire (talk) 19:45, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Willy nilly explains what the phrase means.
I've actually just been and actually read the cited source (here). It does indeed say 'Early Pleistocene', so I have made the change in the article. Look at what I have done in the edit history - see how I left an edit summary, explaining what I was doing, and why I was doing it? That is what you need to do when you make a change, if you don't want it to be reverted. Girth Summit (blether) 19:48, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

National Geographic largest prehistoric blue whale found in Italy. It lives about 1.5 million years ago. AnuranEmpire (talk) 19:50, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Was it a printed magazine? A website? You can't just say that you saw it in the national geographic, you need to cite the source. You can read more about that at WP:CITE. Girth Summit (blether) 19:51, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I forgive you, Girth Summit.

However the Pleistocene starts in 2.588 mya. Just saying. AnuranEmpire (talk) 19:52, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I don't need your forgiveness - I haven't done anything wrong. I'm trying to help you learn how to edit here - you cannot keep on changing articles without citing sources. Girth Summit (blether) 19:54, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, that was harsh. You just made a mistake admitted and changed it. But I’m not complaining although I 100% am shocked an admin like you can you make a humanitarian mistakes, then in the span of 30 minutes change its mind. So you did something wrong and now you fixed it. AnuranEmpire (talk) 19:57, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

No - I didn't make a mistake. I don't think you are listening to what I'm telling you - you made an edit to an infobox, without changing the body of the article, and without making reference to any source, or leaving any kind of edit summary at all. Changes like that are almost certain to be reverted - it's unreasonable of you to expect reviewers to work out what you are doing and check it - you need to explain what you are doing. Girth Summit (blether) 20:02, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

No, I only finish off the parts some editor left behind in temporal range. Then you went super crazy chastising me, then threatening me, finally you accepted that you just basically just flush up and return back to normal. You’re an admin, you’re supposed to take everything slow, not to go threatening me and reverting my edit without thought. And yes, you did something wrong you costed me 30 minutes of my time for your fury bye no excepting the fact that the blue whale existed back to middle Pleistocene and the numbers.

And Pleistocene started 2.5 million years ago not 1.8 mya. Trying to say about Early Pleistocene when you say that it’s middle earlier. You did something wrong, you’re not a complete God, you’re not even a bot, you’re just a mere human like me. A human does not waste half an hour of my precious time for your stupid mistake. Case closed. AnuranEmpire (talk) 20:11, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • AnuranEmpire, you need to dial it back. Your edits are being reverted because you are adding unsourced content to multiple articles contrary to policy. Girth Summit has been extremely patient in trying to explain your errors to you and your accusations of harassment on this page and here are completely unfounded. If you cannot remain civil and discuss your edits with others without making unfounded attacks, you will not succeed as an editor on this project.-- Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 20:18, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Further to your note on my talk page - I'll be happy to move on, if you accept that you cannot comment on other editors in the way you have spoken about me, and if you stop making unsourced changes to infoboxes which introduce conflicts between the information in the infobox and the body of the article. If you consider learning how to edit properly to be a 'waste of your time', then I agree that you may not succeed here. Girth Summit (blether) 20:22, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I accept that even if my edits are true I have to bring my source all the time. Is that clearly good. AnuranEmpire (talk) 20:27, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Can you please forgive me, girth. AnuranEmpire (talk) 20:28, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You haven't done anything to me that I need to forgive you for - don't worry about it, it's not like that, I'm only concerned about what you do next. When I warned you that I'd block you, it wasn't personal - I just needed you to stop making those changes, because you were making lots of them, very quickly, and they seemed to contain errors.
If you cite sources every time you make a change, and you check the body of the article as well as the infobox when making a change (so that they aren't disagreeing with each other), then we can move on. Girth Summit (blether) 20:34, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

OK fine I admit I was wrong. Next time I will bring somewhat references to back my edits. AnuranEmpire (talk) 20:35, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Admin are not perfect[edit]

Sometimes admins make mistakes and they will admit it but will say they did nothing wrong as accepting so basically hurts their career. So how’s about that. A Nonadmin basically change your mind of a administrator. But I will not boast this. AnuranEmpire (talk) 20:34, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Admin aren’t bad but they make mistake, rarely. That’s why chiding about this is unbeneficial. AnuranEmpire (talk) 20:37, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Admins are not perfect, it's true - but I still don't think you're understanding what has happened here. I'm going to try one last time to explain it to you.
You were making a rapid series of changes to multiple articles, using no edit summaries, citing no sources, and in every instance making the infobox disagree with the body of the text. I asked you to stop, you kept doing it, so I warned you that you'd be blocked if you didn't. Then we discussed the edits. So far, we've found one which was factually correct - so, I showed you how to make the change properly. Do you deny that all of the others were erroneous? Do you really blame me that I reverted them all, and warned you? Girth Summit (blether) 20:44, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
AE, I think maybe you haven't followed what's happened here. You made unsourced changes, which we don't do here, no matter how sure we are of our knowledge. GS did for you what you should have done yourself -- found a source for those changes -- and added them. And then you accused him of having made a stupid mistake. He made no mistake. He corrected your mistake, and did it kindly. —valereee (talk) 21:30, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your statement. I will not be difficult for you again. AnuranEmpire (talk) 18:36, 28 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

August 2021[edit]

Please stop your disruptive editing. Wikipedia aims to provide a safe environment for its collaborators, and harassing other users, as you did on User:Apokryltaros, potentially compromises that safe environment. If you continue to harass other editors, you may be blocked from editing. --Mr Fink (talk) 01:25, 30 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I heed your warning. AnuranEmpire (talk) 00:49, 1 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
