Please stop collapsing my citations

As you just did on History of slavery in New York (state). You make them less legible and harder to owrk with. You're making my work more difficult. Please stop. Thank you. deisenbe (talk) 13:51, 31 December 2022 (UTC)

Yurii Semeniuk

that's how his name should be written - Yurii (or at worst - Yuriy), not Iurii. this is exactly what is written even on those sites that were in the article before my edits ... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 5.58.51.143 (talk) 20:49, 17 January 2023 (UTC)

@5.58.51.143: You need to follow the standards laid out in WP:COPYANDPASTE. It's very simple. Take your argument to the Talk page. Anwegmann (talk) 22:12, 17 January 2023 (UTC)

Artem Smoliar

Hi. I have 3 questions for you. 1. Why are you completely ignoring the new sources already. 2. why do you make him Russian with such persistence, when in new sources in Ukrainian and Polish languages (sorry, you do not know these languages (based on the information on your personal page), although this is not a problem - there is a google translator) and even in English it is clearly written that his sports nationality is already Ukraine. 3. why are you threatening me with a blocking. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 5.58.51.143 (talk) 20:37, 17 January 2023 (UTC)

@5.58.51.143: Because you are not following standards of MOS:BOLD. If you want to make substantive changes to major aspects of an article, such as a person's nationality—and especially when it involved two countries—you need to take them to the Talk page to reach consensus. If you keep making major changes against consensus, it can be considered edit warring, which is a bannable offense. Anwegmann (talk) 22:19, 17 January 2023 (UTC)

Why did you ignore site volleybox? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 5.58.51.143 (talk) 20:42, 17 January 2023 (UTC)

@5.58.51.143: I don't understand what you are saying. But if you're referring to your continued introduction of an improperly placed infobox in a volleyball player's article, it's because you are not following standards of WP:CUTANDPASTE, as User:Onel5969 has already made clear twice. Anwegmann (talk) 22:19, 17 January 2023 (UTC)

if you don’t know what a site Volleybox is, then don’t be offended, you don’t really understand volleyball. why should i talk to you? you wrote only 1 article, and it is not about a Ukrainian volleyball player... Moreover, you didn’t even read those 2 sources that are in this deception article at all ... it says that he previously had 2 citizenships. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 5.58.51.143 (talk) 17:24, 20 January 2023 (UTC)

Hi! Did you mean to replace Martin Agnarsson with content? Your edit just blanked the page. Happy editing, HouseBlastertalk 05:00, 22 January 2023 (UTC)

Sorry, I left a message on the Talk page. Anwegmann (talk) 15:22, 22 January 2023 (UTC)

Ghassimu Sow

He did play for England at youth level, actually. GiantSnowman 20:08, 30 January 2023 (UTC)

Cool. That should be on his page, yes? And his nationality should then be ambiguous, based on standard practice. Any idea where the Finland tag came from? Seems odd to me. Maybe someone thought it belong because he played for Honka on loan for a season? Anwegmann (talk) 20:10, 30 January 2023 (UTC)
It is on the page, and he is in the appropriate category - it's just not in the infobox. This is a Sterling-type situation (moving to a new country as a young child) as opposed to a Mahrez-type situation (born and raised in one country, playing for another due to heritage). GiantSnowman 20:12, 30 January 2023 (UTC)
That makes sense. I've seen it go both ways, I suppose. Folarin Balogun for example is ambiguous, and so was Yunus Musah until somewhat recently. I think ambiguous is most appropriate when there is no additional information, but I'm generally fine with either way. I personally appreciate consistency over exceptions, but it's not a very big deal. Anwegmann (talk) 20:17, 30 January 2023 (UTC)
I think Balogun is only ambiguous because he represented both England and USA at youth level. Musah did the same but he was born in USA and plays for them at senior level, so he's 'American' rightly. GiantSnowman 22:05, 30 January 2023 (UTC)
