Disambiguation link notification for April 30[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Aqeel Solangi, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Cinema, Indigenous and Practitioner. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

recovering the content of my page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aqeel_Solangi[edit]

Dear Sir/Ma'am, This is Aqeel Solangi, all the content on my page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aqeel_Solangi has disappeared. I couldn't find a valid reason behind its abandonment. I need to understand that whether my page is going to be continued or should I loose hopes of its recovery and move on. In my earlier talk page I made myself clear and also sent email to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org and confirmed the freely licenses to all the written/visual content mentioned in my page/article, and couldn't get any reply on Talk page or above mentioned email. I don't know how this matter will be resolved, when no one is answering? Anxiously waiting for the reply Best. Aqeel Solangi Aqeel Solangi (talk) 17:18, 17 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The content was removed as a copyright violation, but is still available here if you copy it quickly to somewhere outside Wikipedia. Are you writing your own biography? Dbfirs 18:15, 17 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

User:Dbfirs you asked: Are you writing your own biography? Well, its not a biography, the page was a community service. as the content can be examined as 'Aqeel Solangi as significant painter in Pakistan'. It had the potential to inspire younger generation of artists in Pakistan. I got serious queries among the art community about this deletion of page Aqeel Solangi. I request/wish and hope for the recovery of this page. Best Regards

Please see WP:Autobiography. Were you in time to copy the content to your own space before it was deleted? Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia that reports what others have written about subjects. If you wish to inspire the younger generation, then perhaps you should publish details elsewhere. Google finds an interview with you in the Sindh Times, but everything else it finds for me is published by yourself. To have an article, there should be multiple independent WP:Reliable sources, and Wikipedia is particularly strict about WP:Biographies of living persons. Dbfirs 20:52, 31 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

August 2017[edit]

This account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because the username, Aqeel Solangi, matches the name of a well-known, living person.

If you are the person represented by this username, please note that the practice of blocking such usernames is to protect you from being impersonated, not to discourage you from editing Wikipedia. You may choose to edit under a new username (see information below), but keep in mind that you are welcome to continue to edit under this username. If you choose to do so, we ask the following:

  1. Please be willing and able to prove your identity to Wikipedia.
  2. Please send an email to info-en@wikimedia.org. Be aware that the volunteer response team that handles email is indeed operated entirely by volunteers, and the reply may not be immediate.

If you are not the person represented by this username, you are welcome to choose a new username (see below).

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive, or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account.

You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines and create the account yourself. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:

  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "Email this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you think that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} on your user talk page, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. ~ Rob13Talk 16:09, 2 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Talk: Dear Robert Bruce, I am really grateful that you restored the article. I have put a request of changing my Username (as suggested/directed in the talk). I will consult you if I need further assistance. Best Regards.

I had changed my username but I am still not able to edit my article. I checked the availability of new name that time, Should I change my username again in order to be able to edit my article? Best Regards.

Talk: Dear Robert Bruce, I have requested once more a new username, hope this time it wouldn't match the original block. Best regards talkDear Yamla, I have requested once more a new username, hope this time it wouldn't match the original block. Best regards

It would be inappropriate for you to continue editing that article if you are ever unblocked. You have been violating WP:COI, WP:PAID, and WP:PROMO. --Yamla (talk) 22:38, 7 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Sockpuppet investigation[edit]

Hi. An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Munshi Jam, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.
