Trooper Hook[edit]

Thanks for your contributions. But ... the WP:FILMPLOT guidelines recommend a length of 400-700 words. Clarityfiend (talk) 07:56, 9 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

May I ask why I was banned from editing the article for 8 years when I was neither argumentative, crude, or off-topic? I find the changes that were made to shorten my initial expansion of the stub were good improvements and did not dispute them. Yet I seem to have been preemptively precluded from any further edits to make small refinements that I have subsequently made. Ariadne000 (talk) 23:09, 2 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your contributions to The Door with Seven Locks (novel). Unfortunately, it is not ready for publishing because it has no sources and poor structure and no categories. Your article is now a draft where you can improve it undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. BoyTheKingCanDance (talk) 01:39, 17 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I was still compiling the template and sections when you deleted them. I find the tutorial content confusing and usually just opt to add text to already existing stub articles. This is the first time attempting to create an article from scratch and had just put in the section heads before adding the text. How do I access the draft? Ariadne000 (talk) 02:01, 17 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I have applied for The Door with Seven Locks (novel) (public-facing article) to be speedily deleted, and you may receive a notification about this. No need to be alarmed– this will merely make space for your eventual content, and it will not delete content of Draft:The Door with Seven Locks (novel).
You can keep working at Draft:The Door with Seven Locks (novel) (draft); when you are finished, you can submit it for review! Wracking 💬 03:49, 17 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. I will take a few days to complete the plot summary, references, etc.
I don't see a "Save" for the draft. Is "Publish" in the DRAFT the draft save? I don't want to actually publish until I submit for review. The tutorials and templates are confusing. Excuse my confusion--I have 20 years of experience in desktop publishing (including proposals for Oracle), but find the Wikipedia templates and instructions not user-friendly. Hence I have usually just stuck to edits of text and not new article creation. Since I'm retired now, I would like to add more content for books I enjoy that do not presently have articles. Ariadne000 (talk) 04:16, 17 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, on a draft article, think of "publish" like "save". It will remain a draft and will not become a public-facing article until it is renamed (moved) to the title without "Draft:" as a prefix.
I totally understand that it's not super user-friendly– no need for apologies! Feel free to reach out to me or anyone at the Teahouse for help of any kind. I, for one, appreciate your additions to the encyclopedia and thank you for being persistent in light of the confusing interface! Wracking 💬 04:37, 17 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

December 2023[edit]

Hello. I wanted to let you know that your recent edit(s) to the Marnie (film) plot summary have been removed because they added a significant amount of unnecessary detail. Please avoid excessive detail and high word counts when editing plot summaries/synopses. You may read the plot summary edit guides to learn more about contributing constructively to plot summaries/synopses. There are also specific guidelines for films, musicals, television episodes, anime/manga, novels and non-fiction books. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. DonIago (talk) 22:15, 17 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for January 3[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Charley's Aunt (1941 film), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Expulsion. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:04, 3 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I Love You to Death[edit]

Hi, I’m @Spectrallights. This message is in regards to edits you made on I Love You to Death, particularly the section The Toto Case. Per MOS:NAMESANDTITLES, names of publications, like the Chicago Tribune, Orlando Sentinel, etc. should be italicized. Italics are not needed for quotes. The first paragraph contained direct links to the news articles, when the articles have already been cited. I fixed these so there are no duplicate references. If you think I made a mistake or have a question, leave me a message on my talk page. Spectrallights (talk) 06:34, 18 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Reservoir Dogs[edit]

Moved debate to the article's Talk section so we can all review without further back-and-forth edits. Even though your previous edit cited the 700-word limit, the plot's content/detail is what needs to be addressed. Look forward to reviewing these points on the Talk page. Thanks. Disambiguation link notification for April 9[edit]

As an editor who has enhanced many plot summaries on Wikipedia, I disagree with your comments that the plot summary reads more like an "essay" than a plot summary. It gives a well-written and accurate summation of the plot similar to many others covering films in Wikipedia that is within the 700 word guideline.
Here are some examples of plot summaries that you would deem "essays":
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Maltese_Falcon_(1941_film)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casablanca_(film)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinatown_(1974_film)
The article cites two references.
There are many weak stubs that have far less content on Wikipedia, available for others to enhance. Why is this one--which is accurate and has references--unworthy of publication as a starting point, available for enhancements such as "Production" and "Reception" comments and graphics such as a movie poster?
