Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Edward Downe Jr.. Your edits continue to appear to constitute vandalism and have been automatically reverted.

  • If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Note that human editors do monitor recent changes to Wikipedia articles, and administrators have the ability to block users from editing if they repeatedly engage in vandalism.
  • ClueBot NG makes very few mistakes, but it does happen. If you believe the change you made should not have been considered as unconstructive, please read about it, report it here, remove this warning from your talk page, and then make the edit again.

Welcome![edit]

Hello, Arielsaldana1, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Edward Downe Jr., which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms our use and policy on paid editing.

May 2018[edit]

Stop icon with clock
You have been blocked temporarily from editing for edit warring, as you did at Edward Downe Jr.. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  KnightLago (talk) 04:03, 20 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If and when you are allowed to edit Wikipedia again, there are several things you should consider:

  1. If you are representing the subject of an article, you have a conflict of interest (COI). If you are being paid for your editing, it is mandatory to disclose this information, including which articles you are editing and who is paying you to do so. Whether paid or unpaid, COI editors can reasonably expect their edits to be subjected to a higher level of scrutiny to ensure they are not self-serving.
  2. Wikipedia is interested only in what reliable independent sources say about a subject, whether it be positive or negative. The biographies of living persons (BLP) policy ensures that negative information must be extremely well-sourced. As long as negative information is well-sourced, neutrally worded and not given undue weight, it is fair game for Wikipedia.
  3. Realize that the subject of an article has no right of ownership or editorial control over its contents. An article's subject cannot insist that it remain at a version that they prefer - consensus is Wikipedia's fundamental model of editorial decision-making. There are several methods of dealing with problems in an article about someone - unilateral removal of content at the subject's behest is not one of them. As you have discovered, edit warring is not tolerated, no matter how much you know or believe yourself to be right.
