Please do not cite policies and guidelines to me, especially when I have linked to it in the open discussion thread regarding this topic. My reply to your revert can be found at the talkpage: Please see Talk:Ernst & Young/Archives/2013#Stroescu case and reply there instead of reverting. Wikipedia policy dictates that only three reverts can be made by any one editor in 24 hours. Speedy deletion of Fudzilla.com[edit]

A tag has been placed on Fudzilla.com requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for web content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. JCutter (talk) 00:35, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It's a computing news website that, between others (the register, ars technica), I personally read a lot. Has lots of readers, so I thought it's notable enough. I don't care about any wikipedia vs fudzilla "fight", as the inquirer article suggest. Where should I indicate why its subject is important or significant? I can't identify such information on The Inquirer article, for example. Thanks Ark25 (talk) 00:56, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I understand what the site is, and I too don't care about any old fights (only learned about it after reading your inquirer link), but the problem remains that there is nothing to assert that it is a notable website in your article. A site can't be notable simply because it's been deleted from Wikipedia before. If you want to save or re-write the article it should meet these guidelines. Regards. JCutter (talk) 02:14, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
notable website: "The content itself has been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works". At moment I can't find any other reference on it, other than the inquirer article (and that one seems trivial by the way). Ah well, in a few years the site will be notable, I guess. Stub template categories[edit]

Hi, this message is to inform you that there is a thread at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Stub sorting#Stub template categories concerning a few of your recent edits. Your participation and comments are welcome. Thank you, –BLACK FALCON (TALK) 06:38, 4 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I took the liberty of changing a page you created (Angelli) from a disambig to a redirect, because the correct surname of Marella Angelli is in fact Agnelli. If you think I fucked up, feel free to revert my edits. ^________^ Salvio ( Let's talk 'bout it!) 17:44, 10 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Don't worry I'm not touchy about my edits. Thanks for noticing me. I think it needs a revert, since there are 2 distinct items containing "Angelli" in the name. Cheers ! Ark25 (talk) 17:52, 10 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Oh wait, I think it can be left as it is now, I have no idea at all if the Marella Angelli redirect makes any sense. sorry for the confusion -- Ark25 (talk) 17:54, 10 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
If you think that many people might type Angelli, instead of Agnelli, to refer to Marella, you can revert my edit and write that Angelli can refer to Euterebra angelli, but it can also be a (common?) misnomer for Marella Agnelli... Salvio ( Let's talk 'bout it!) 18:39, 10 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Who knows? I'm not italian, have not idea if they type Angelli instead of Agnelli. I can see tho that Agnelli is a common name used by many, that makes me believe the Marella Angelli redirect does not make much sense - otherwise you would have redirects for the other people named Agnelli (sorry for bad english by the way). So, no, no need to revert, things look just fine at the moment. -- Ark25 (talk) 18:45, 10 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
FWIW, they don't "type Angelli instead of Agnelli", but rather we ignorami, who are not native speakers of Italian, easily confuse them. "Angelli" or "Angeli" would probably have to do with angels (but probably be pronounced ahn-GALE-lee or ahn-GAY-lee rather than an-JELL-eye), while "Agnelli" probably has to do with lambs, and is pronounced roughly "ahn-YELL-lee.
--Jerzyt 21:05, 26 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm, actually probably "ah-NYALE-lee". And i see that, just above, i recapitulated a PDQ Bach joke about "Angus Dei, what a cow!" Like i said, i remain
Truly your ignoramus, --Jerzyt 22:28, 26 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, i misunderstood you as saying you didn't understand Italian orthography and had been surprised that "Agnelli" wasn't a typo! But from the next section, it appears that you're fairly fluent, and that i, who am not, have no insight to offer you. I'm embarrassed by my exceedingly ignorant intrusion!

Pagina companie[edit]

Ark25 (talk) 21:13, 19 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Draga variants[edit]

     Taking a guess at what you'd have had in mind in including the list of variants in the Disambiguation page Draga, i split that material (which doesn't belong on a Dab page) into 3 new pages that i mention in Talk:Draga#"See also" secn. Your input on that talk page could help determine the fate of those 3 pages and their content.

You are now a Reviewer[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 18:43, 15 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sacramento[edit]

Some time ago you expressed your opinion that Sacramento, California should be at Sacramento and inquired about guidelines for naming cities. For the latter, please see WP:NC:CITY#United States. I agree with you about the rename and implicit change to that guideline. Are you still interested in pursuing this change? If so, please indicate accordingly at Talk:Sacramento, California. --Born2cycle (talk) 00:10, 24 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Roca (company), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Gmcbjames (talk) 18:02, 10 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not make statements attacking people or groups of people. Wikipedia has a strict policy against personal attacks. Attack pages and images are not tolerated by Wikipedia and are speedily deleted. Users who continue to create or repost such pages and images in violation of our biographies of living persons policy will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Thank you.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Sorry but I deleted it. The weight of the negative statements against the flimsy (romainain) source made it a BLP violation. Here are some better sources if you would like to start again 1 2 3 4 Cheers--Guerillero | My Talk 04:46, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

@Secret: Attack? what attack? I just cited the sources, I have only used the statements already in the newspapers. I haven't made any statement on my own. Furthermore, according to your logic, pages like Jeffrey Dahmer should be deleted because it contains statements attacking people. And what nomination are you talking about? The page was speedily deleted a long time ago, it was never nominated for deletion.

@Guerillero: Well, the problem is that I can't really remember what sources I used. The romanian newspaper, Evenimentul zilei was citing english newspapers. I think I have added BBC references too. Anyways, is there any chance you can restore the page (somewhere in my user space) so I can expand it? Thanks. —  Ark25  (talk) 06:37, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I mean, to rewrite it. But I need the article to see the sources, and also to rephrase it. If you don't want to restore it into my user space, then please send it to me by email. —  Ark25  (talk) 21:14, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I don't have a copy of the article, but the article was deleted for obvious WP:BLP concerns. In recreating the article, you must look at the sources closely and get f the most reliable sources for the subject, like the sources Guerillero provided. Also follow our neutral point of view, which the old article had issues with, don't use that Romanian source again as it doesn't seem to be independent of the subject and with dubious claims. That's why the article was speedy deleted without much of an argument and never restored back in DRV. You really need to be careful writing about the subject as he's still a living person. Thanks Secret account 16:01, 31 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

There are lots of Google templates like {{Google RGSE}} and {{Find sources}} that may help you find reliable sources. WP:SET has a lot of information about search techniques and useful sources. LittleBen (talk) 04:37, 26 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Wikilinking[edit]

Hi, and thanks for your work on the English Wikipedia.

I noticed an article you worked on. Just a short note to point out that we don’t normally link:

  • dates
  • years
  • commonly known geographical terms (including well-known country-names), and
  • common terms you’d look up in a dictionary (unless significantly technical).

This even applies for infoboxes.

Thanks and my best wishes.

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. I am glad to see that you are discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, talk pages such as Talk page guidelines are for discussion related to improving the article, not general discussion about the topic or unrelated topics. If you have specific questions about certain topics, consider visiting our reference desk and asking them there instead of on article talk pages. Your persistent efforts to get approval for spamming article talk pages with external links are becoming tedious. Consensus is against you. Stop beating the dead horse. Robert McClenon (talk) 19:16, 28 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Robert McClenon - Minor point: W:Talk page guidelines is a guide, not an article. I can't see how the topic I posted was unrelated, since I asked the others if my actions are ok in the light of WP:TPG. And I started the topic on the talk page of WP:TPG.
Consensus is marked by addressing legitimate concerns held by editors. Calling someone a spammer without having evidence to support the claim is not a legitimate concern. —  Ark25  (talk) 19:54, 28 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Șerpeni (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G6 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an orphaned disambiguation page which either

  • disambiguates two or fewer extant Wikipedia pages and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic); or
  • disambiguates no (zero) extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. No worries. After working on it a bit I came to the conclusion it would be simpler to just use existing resources and ended up with a bookmarklet like this:
javascript:var Manifest = 'small bookmarklet that saves a couple of keystrokes';
if (document.URL.match(/books.google/)) {
var MW = window.open("https://reftag.appspot.com/?book_url=" + document.URL);
    MW.focus();
    return;
} else {
    MW = window.open("https://tools.wmflabs.org/yadkard/yadkard.fcgi?user_input=" + document.URL + "&dateformat=%25Y-%25m-%25d");
    MW.focus();
    return;
}

Disambiguation[edit]

I've thought about that too, but also mainly avoided it just because of the size of the task. So basically, if you do it, great; if not, it's not really a big deal. - Biruitorul Talk 00:17, 6 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for July 26[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Nicholas, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Niklaus and Nicolina. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. William Goad[edit]

Good job on the article. I think it is neutral and well referenced enough to withstand a deletion discussion now. I've expanded it a little and nominated it to be featured on Wikipedia's main page at Template:Did you know nominations/William Goad. You are welcome to propose an alternative blurb there. Regards, Jolly Ω Janner 07:15, 17 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks a lot for greatly improving the article! I feel kind of embarrassed for not trying to re-create it sooner. The first time I created it, it was based on a Romanian newspaper article, an article visibly lacking neutrality. However, an article about the biggest pedophile in UK should have been improved, not deleted. I still feel haunted by the fact that he could ruin thousands of human lives for 35 god damn years, about the minuscule effort the adults did to encourage the children to report when such things happen to them or to report when someone even tries to lure them, the minuscule effort made by the adults to educate the children in order to know how to avoid to be lured. I think the adults failed the children miserably in this case - and in many other cases like this. We give education to the children.. really??? Anyways, thanks again! —  Ark25  (talk) 11:52, 17 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • I just noticed that some of the article was copied word for word from the Daily Mail. For future reference, please never do this on Wikipedia unless you are certain the source gives permission for its work to be reproduced. Regards, Jolly Ω Janner 07:06, 7 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Those sentences are very short. It's quite unthinkable for me that such newspapers would bother to sue Wikipedia for copying one or two phrases from their articles. —  Ark25  (talk) 07:27, 7 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

indef[edit]

I saw your comments on Wikipedia talk:Blocking policy. One solution to your problem is that indefinite blocks would expire after a year if requested by the user. One year is a long time. If they are tricky and try to evade blocks, then the initial block is not going to be a deterrent. However, if they are ethical, they will abide by the one year block and act nicely after a year. Lakeshook (talk) 20:15, 14 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Lakeshook: Thanks for sharing your idea. I think this is also a good idea. Meanwhile my idea got a bit more clear and I found another name for Restricted users: "Corrector". It looks like the community and the WMF simply don't care about the smaller Wikipedias and allow unlimited abuses. I can do one edit per month, for an entire year, just for correcting misspellings - so I can prove that I am capable to act in good faith. I can keep doing only minor edits indefinitely. The community somehow suggests that the only solution is to create another user and to pretend to be someone else - which is not only humiliating but it also doesn't work. If the Romanian admins detect that I am using another username, they will revert all my edits. The people like me, acting in good faith, have no chance whatsoever to do anything useful for smaller Wikipedias, and I find that distasteful and also ridiculous for an entity that claims to be "a free online encyclopedia that aims to allow anyone to edit articles.". The WMF should do at least an absolute minimum to prevent unlimited abuses, by enforcing either your idea or my idea or something similar, on all Wikipedias. —  Ark25  (talk) 21:39, 14 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Bugcrowd for deletion[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Bugcrowd is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Bugcrowd until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Mkdw talk 19:04, 22 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I'm just going to go ahead and ask. Have you been engaged in undisclosed paid editing? A number of articles which you have re-created do not seemingly meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines, you have written about your support for it in the past, and some of the articles you have re-created have a history of UPE. Mkdw talk 20:56, 22 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Mkdw: No, I was never engaged into any form of paid editing. I was just reading a few days ago an article on Ars Technica about a bug posted on Bugcrowd so I thought maybe this web platform is important enough to deserve an article on Wikipedia. I just happened to create an article deleted before. And I can't remember re-creating any other deleted article than William Goad which doesn't have a history of UPE. —  Ark25  (talk) 15:50, 26 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I asked because both Bugcrowd and Ashes of Creation were previously deleted and created by editors engaging in sock puppetry, undisclosed paid editing, or WP:PROMO. Mkdw talk 01:47, 9 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Mkdw Sure, your question was justified. I hope my reply was not too rough. I did not remember of Ashes of Creation. At this moment I would be not surprised if there are one or two more deleted articles that I have re-created and that I forgot about. —  Ark25  (talk) 03:00, 9 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Tandarica has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. Disambiguation pages[edit]

Hi Ark25, thank you for your recent edits to disambiguation pages. Could you please keep in mind that intentional links to disambiguation pages should always go through an article title that includes '(disambiguation)', even if that link is a redirect (per WP:INTDAB). That lets editors and readers know that the link is intentional and not a mistake that needs to be fixed. Thanks, Leschnei (talk) 16:54, 30 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Leschnei: Sorry for the trouble I have created. I was not using (disambiguation) in the links when I linked pages that had related titles by just adding another letter to the title of the page I was editing. For example, at Laure, I linked LaurelLaurenLaurerLauretLaureyLaureano. Or by doubling letters - for example at Vale - Valle – Valee – Vallee. These are not variations of the word but they are simply obtained by combining the letters of the initial word (appending letters in this case). Since there are sometimes so many such combined words, I was trying to reduce the space used, by compressing them on a single line. The best example is at Vale too: Valea – Valee – Valeh – Valek – Valen – Valeo – Valer – Vales – Valev - they are obtained by appending one letter to the initial word. —  Ark25  (talk) 18:10, 30 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I understand your reasoning on putting multiple entries on one line, and it makes some sense, but it goes against the MOS for disambiguation pages, so other editors will feel obliged to fix it. Leschnei (talk) 18:15, 30 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

"Valerianus (disambiguation)" listed at Redirects for discussion[edit]

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Valerianus (disambiguation). Since you had some involvement with the Valerianus (disambiguation) redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you wish to do so. Leschnei (talk) 18:36, 30 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Leschnei: Most likely, it was my error to rename the page in the first place, sorry for that. —  Ark25  (talk) 19:00, 30 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Note about use of multiple accounts[edit]

Hi, at a request of a steward I ran a check on Zgaba (talk+ · tag · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log · CA · CheckUser(log· investigate · cuwiki) in accordance with the en.wiki CheckUser policy, which allows for checks when there is Disruption (or potential disruption) of any Wikimedia project and there was reason to believe that account was evading a ban on ro.wiki. My conclusion is that this account is  Confirmed to you.

I will not be blocking either you or that account, because I do not see any major violation of WP:SOCK on en.wiki, but I will note that there is some minor overlap in mainspace. While I suppose this is a technical policy violation, I do not see it as enough of a reason to block a user who is otherwise in good standing. I will caution you, however, that should you use multiple accounts in a way that violates our policies, the likely outcome is a block. It is usually safer just to keep it to one account here, especially when the secondary account is being used to evade a ban on another project. TonyBallioni (talk) 23:43, 13 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Raymond Landry has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Clearcut violation of BIO1E; if there is a notable topic here, it would be Execution of Raymond Landry.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. A tag has been placed on Eforie (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a disambiguation page which either

  • disambiguates only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic);
  • disambiguates zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
  • is an orphaned redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" that does not target a disambiguation page or page that has a disambiguation-like function.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
