Yes, next time it might be better to actually read an article before assuming it's been vandalized. :) -- BRIAN0918  03:24, 30 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Myspace

Hello, Alex. Are you a member of the Myspace site? -- Riffsyphon1024 23:49, May 30, 2005 (UTC)

Yes I am. My profile is here, and I frequent the site quite often. --Alex12 3 19:27, 31 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

VfD

Hi, I notice you signed at the VfD for Packing problem. Could you re-sign at Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/MoreKarlScherer instead, so that I can merge the VfDs? ~~~~ 3 July 2005 17:17 (UTC)

I would be glad to. That whole situation has really gotten out of hand, no? --Alex12 3 3 July 2005 17:22 (UTC)

Hi there, you forgot to sign your comment on Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic III. Leithp July 3, 2005 18:55 (UTC)

Oh, heh, sorry. Taken care of. --Alex12 3 3 July 2005 18:57 (UTC)

thanks for tellin me to go to the Vfd page cuz it was early in the morning and i just wasnt fully awake . Jobe6 July 4, 2005 03:00 (UTC)

No problem. :) Thanks for helping out. --Alex12 3 4 July 2005 05:52 (UTC)
I'm not sure how appropriate semi-closing the VfD on The System of the World (novel) early is. See my comment on the VfD. I've posted the discussion to today's log since it was never listed properly. Closing a VfD early is very unusual indeed, even if it was malicious. -Splash July 4, 2005 12:10 (UTC)
On the other hand, I would have much less problem with the removal of the VfD on the others you list at WP:AN/I since those VfDs were never begun at all (all the vandal did was place the tag). -Splash July 4, 2005 12:18 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/The Poppykettle Papers

You recently voted to delete The Poppykettle Papers. I would like to call your attention to the following details in hopes that you will re-consider your vote:

  • I am not the original author of the spam that started Poppykettle, as you can see from my contributions.
  • I would have re-written the spam article in question rather than create a new page, but it was incorrectly named (which is why I suggested in it's VfD that it become a redirect.
  • The book in question really is notable, but using Amazon as a metric for older books is misleading, and using Google as a metric for children's coffee table books is equally misleading. The illustrator alone is notable.
  • My new page is strictly NPOV and while it's only a stub, quite adequate
  • I vote to delete quite a few articles every day, and only select the ones that I truly feel are worthy for salvaging.

Thank you for you time -Harmil 6 July 2005 02:04 (UTC)

Copyvio clarification

Thanks for taking the time to explain proper copyvio procedure to me. I've never really used copyvio before, so I appreciate the information.--Scimitar 7 July 2005 17:24 (UTC)

No problem. :) Thank you for putting a table on contents on my talk page. --ArmadniGeneral 7 July 2005 17:27 (UTC)

VfD

As an Wikipedia administrator who is currently administering the VfD for Gay Niggers Association of America, it is within my purview to discount votes. I have not discounted your own, however. - Ta bu shi da yu 8 July 2005 04:28 (UTC)

I edited my comment to reflect that. There's only about 500 of you, no? I didn't mean to sound snappy or anything, just wanted to make sure everything's done properly. --ArmadniGeneral 8 July 2005 04:30 (UTC)
No worries :-) I'm assuming good faith here! I am able to be objective about this vote, so if the vote to delete becomes over 70%, I will delete the article. I do appreciate you wanting this to be above board as I share a similar concern. In fact, I submitted it again because of previous irregularities. - Ta bu shi da yu 8 July 2005 04:34 (UTC)
Yep. Good luck with keeping clean, though. I've heard more than just a little about the previous attempts. :) --ArmadniGeneral 8 July 2005 04:38 (UTC)

Origin of the name

I am curious: how did you find the name ArmadniGeneral? In Czech language the "Armádní generál" is used to denote the highest military position, also in Slovenian and Slovakian. Pavel Vozenilek 03:39, 17 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Heh. But be aware that among Czechs the army is not popular. Common stereotype is that officers are people who woudn't be able to find any other job and the higher level, the more stupid they must be. Pavel Vozenilek 23:57, 17 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, please only use the {{nn-bio}} tag on articles on real people "that do not assert the importance or significance of the subject". Kalopedis family clearly makes claims to significance. Kappa 11:40, 6 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

You voted in agreement with me on this AfD a minute ago, but I just changed my vote after actually trying to read the article with my very limited German--it's utter nonsense. Thought I should let you know. Chick Bowen 01:26, 2 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, I'm keeping up on it. Left a comment on the AfD page and changed my vote. –ArmadniGeneral (talkcontribs) 01:28, 2 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Striver

"Lies on your userpage" - seems a little bit extreme, especially since it was related to his userpage and not an encyclopedia-article. No matter how crazy a comment someone puts on their userpage, you shouldnt rag on them for it if it doesnt have to do with the Wikipedia mainspace. freestylefrappe 01:53, 10 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Forgive me for being under the impression that WP:NOT extended to user pages as well, and that Wikipedia's credibility came from its users as well. Also forgive me for identifying lies as what they are. –ArmadniGeneral (talkcontribs) 05:00, 10 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Lies? Could you point them out so i can be corrected regarding the missionformation and remove them? Further, the term "lies" implies that i know they are unfactual and still choose to present them as facts. I take that as a personal insult. --Striver 11:23, 15 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Your signature

ArmadniGeneral, I noticed that you were using a transcluded page (User:ArmadniGeneral/s) as your signature. Doing so creates a signficantly increased amount of strain on Wikipedia servers. Have you considered changing your signature in your preferences so that it the same result will come out when you enter ~~~~ ? Many thanks. Flcelloguy ( A note? ) 23:12, 9 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Reverting the Talk pages

I removed the material because of growing concensus that user WIN is not looking for community cooperation on editing the article, but rather is using the page like a discussion form to disprove something in a very WP:NOR way. Other users have echoed the need to revert his diatribes. CRCulver 11:43, 23 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

PRC

I would view the ideals that you have constantly ovwritten mine with as being equally, if not more POV. That you don't realise this, I'd conjecture it to be blunt evidence of a lack of research on your part - something which is just a lil unbecoming of encyclopedic entries. If you wish to discuss the issue of what is appropriate to put in this section, given the proven horrific human rights abuses in China, I am willing to do so. Until then I am more than willing to continue to attempt to gather full academic references to prove this 'point of view', and to fight to keep it within the realm of reason as opposed to a vehicle of Chinese state propoganda (can countries be guilty of points of view, or are they exempt from bias?). Or at least I would be, but I got an exam tomorrow and have 2 sleep *yawn* goodnight General/Comrade chairman. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Joinalex (talkcontribs) 11:51 (UTC) 23 June 2006.

Orphaned non-free media (Image:DeadJournal logo.PNG)

Thanks for uploading Image:DeadJournal logo.PNG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 15:32, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:New DeadJournal logo.PNG

Thanks for uploading Image:New DeadJournal logo.PNG. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 21:14, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have tagged Image:Khamis_al-Obedi.jpg as a disputed use of non-free media, because there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please clarify your fair use rationale on the image description page. Thank you. Rockfang (talk) 04:19, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, this picture you've uploaded is interesting and I'd like to nominate it as a valued image candidate on Commons. Message regarding your use of the No Multi License Template

In case you are not aware, the Wikimedia Foundation has proposed that the copyright licensing terms on the wikis operated by the WMF – including Wikipedia – be changed to include the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike (CC-BY-SA) license in addition to the current GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) as allowed by version 1.3 of the GFDL. The community has approved this change with 75.8% in favor, and on June 15, 2009, the change will take effect.
You currently have {{NoMultiLicense}} on your user or user talk page, which states that your edits are licensed under the GFDL only. On or before June 15, this template will be changed to reflect Wikipedia's new licensing terms. If you accept the licensing change, you do not need to do anything (and feel free to remove this message); if you do not accept it, we regret that you will no longer be able to contribute to the encyclopedia. Please join the discussion at Wikipedia:Village pump (policy)#NoMultiLicense template if you have any comments.
