A tag has been placed on New Jaipur requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. December 2009[edit]

Please stop. Continuing to remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to New Jaipur, without resolving the problem that the template refers to may be considered vandalism. Further edits of this type may result in you being blocked from editing Wikipedia. Biker Biker (talk) 10:08, 17 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your addition to New Jaipur has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of article content such as sentences or images. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. This is the second time you have created New Jaipur and the second time you have used (the same) material that was a blatant copyright infringement. Please stop or you will be banned from Wikipedia. Biker Biker (talk) 19:29, 21 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of New Jaipur, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://m.timesofindia.com/PDATOI/articleshow/4913014.cms. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.)

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Deustche Bank Global Processing Centre Jaipur.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Deustche Bank Global Processing Centre Jaipur.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 09:50, 16 June 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 09:50, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Revolving Restaurant Jaipur.jpg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Revolving Restaurant Jaipur.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for continuing to violate copyright policy by copying text into Wikipedia from other sources, despite having previously been warned that this is not allowed. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|I was not aware of the copyright policies and i thought that copying the exact information from the authorised wensite is not a copyright infringement but only information sharing since people do not know about the website but wikipedia is known to everyone}} below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. Request reason:

I had contributed to the wikipedia pages in an inappropriate manner because I wasn't aware of the policies back then. It has been more than 3 years since that happened. Please unblock my account.

Decline reason:

Simply procedurally declining this unblock request so the other one can stand on its own for now. - Vianello (Talk) 10:23, 4 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Arpanmehra (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

The reason why I got blocked was because I used unauthorized and copyrighted content to update a few pages. But if you notice, all those pages were general information pages and were about the new developments in my hometown. I was particularly excited about updating the pages on Wikipedia and wasn't aware of the policies. For example - I had created a page on New Jaipur and Jaipur Bus Rapid Transit. I used content from the official website of Jaipur Bus Rapid Transit and for new Jaipur, I used content from various news sites. All of this was just to update the page and not for any personal gains or with the objective to harm anyone. I will refrain from uploading any copyrighted material on wikipedia articles and will read up the conditions before contributing. Thanks. Arpan Mehra

Decline reason:

The agreement to refrain from adding copyrighted material is a start. However, based on this appeal I have serious doubts that you actually understand why copyright violations are such a big issue here, or even what would constitute a copyright violation. Until it's clear that you are aware of the issues raised by copy-pasting non-free material, and why Wikipedia can't allow it, I'm not comfortable lifting this block. Request reason:

Okay! How do I prove that I have understood how big a deal copy paste violation is. What I had done with my account was 3 years ago and I wasn't aware of the policies. I understand that Wikipedia will be held responsible if I upload copyrighted content and my account will be banned again which is not going to serve my purpose. This is the last attempt I can make in requesting you to unblock my account. I want to write a few articles about the field I work in and contribute to the definitions of the technology I use. This is completely different from why I was on Wikipedia the last time. How do I prove that I understand why copyright violations are such a big issue and what constitutes a copyright violation. Anything that is not original or is released without the permissions of the owner/creator of the piece is copyright violation.

Here are a few key questions:

You are currently blocked because your previous actions violated key Wikipedia policies. Even if you understand why we can't have copyrighted material copy-pasted into articles, I'm still not sure you understand what Wikipedia is all about. You still have to provide reliable sources for anything you write, can you provide us with any examples of articles you'd start or contribute to, and what sources you would use?
