March 2008[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Saint_Petersburg, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. --Enric Naval (talk) 12:53, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That sister city list has been unsourced since June 2007 until I found a WP:RS source for it. Now you are adding some cities, but you are not explaining or sourcing why they should be re-added. Please notice that they are not on the official list provided on the saint petersburg's official list, so you will really need a source for them. --Enric Naval (talk) 12:53, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add content without citing reliable sources, as you did to Saint_Petersburg. Before making potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Contact me if you need assistance adding references. Thank you. --Enric Naval (talk) 15:04, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Copy-pasting the unsourced list that appears at List_of_twin_towns_and_sister_cities_in_Russia as you did here [1] is not the solution to the list not having sources. Wikipedia relies on WP:V verifiability, and so you must find sources for those sisterhoods before re-adding them. (I wouldn't be so harsh if it hadn't been unsourced since June 2007). --Enric Naval (talk) 15:04, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

keeping them[edit]

They are already kept on the talk page of the article, where you can go to recover them at any time as soon as you find the source for them. If the talk page gets archived, you will still be able to get them from the archives. This unsourced information has been long enough on the article itself. --Enric Naval (talk) 15:33, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't understand why you want them on the article itself. They are not on the official sister list provided by the city, and they don't have an independient source to sustain them. For all we know, someone could have made them up and added for a laugh I keep forgetting the good faith policy, I mean that someone could have made a mistake and added them incorrectly, and no source will ever be found because the sisterhood does not exist.

And a "references needed" tag was up already for nine months for the whole section. 9 months should have been time enough. --Enric Naval (talk) 15:46, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for deciding to take it slowly and re-add cities one by one --Enric Naval (talk) 11:21, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Please remember to add the sources for the cities. 3 sister cities that you added to Saint Petersburg were deleted by another editor because of lack of sources before I could see them. --Enric Naval (talk) 21:13, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
