Hi Ashley - I think that Cambodia is a great topic to cover. What draws you to focus on the Khmer Rouge era? I urge you to look at our Global Context database on Cambodia at the library website and see what you find on both topics related to Cambodia. Is there information on youth in this era? What kind of sociological questions might you ask about this historical era? Citing memoirs and monographs

Ashley, there are numerous ways you can opt to cite print books on Wikipedia. This file on [citing references] should help. At a minimum you need author, title, publisher and year. It's common practice on Wikipedia, however, to use an external link to the item's page on Google Books (even if the item is not available in full-text on Google Books.) I've renamed the article to Youth in Cambodia. Rather than just adding a section to the article, I would encourage you to consider rewriting, restructuring, and revising the entire article. I believe that most of what's there is sourced from a Library of Congress country studies document dated from 1987 and much of it is poorly written and outdated. A good article on youth in Cambodia will include demographics and overviews of the education, health, and culture-related experiences of Cambodian youth. I think that the influence of the Khmer Rouge and the pressures of globlisation should be taken into account, but it is important to also address the influence of Buddhism.

Regarding photos, I left a response for you over at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Cambodia#Khmer Photo Help. I'm a good person to ask about uploading images if you have any questions.

Feedback on 3.27 sources

Hi AMT. You have found some solid sources! As you move forward, step back a bit and consider how you will structure a general article on Youth in Cambodia, as per User: Gobonobo's feedback a few weeks ago. I encourage you to look to the reference librarian for general statistics on gender, percent of population, education, health, employment, etc. Because you are starting an article, you have the benefit of being able to work with the basics in addition to the great scholarly article you have found.

I want you and User:Scarlson0921 to have parallel structures in your articles - each "youth in X" article needs to have a similar format.

I seem to be having issues with making the Lead section of my article. Is there special markup or something I need to do to my first paragraph to make it the lead? AshleyMichelleThompson (talk) 14:30, 15 May 2013 (UTC)
