One may say I am somewhat new to Wikipedia editing and am learning new things on notability criteria for professors to become Wikipedia notable. Yes, for Ranjan N. Naik, the numbers are low, thanks for letting me know. It looks like he was not in academia after completing a PhD in 1977 until 2004. I may have to find out where he was other than in academia. I have some evidence that he was in software engineering and tried to come back to academia teaching and research around in 2004. He may have one or two papers after that which are not substantial to list. I have noticed in Wikipedia that for some just one contribution making him/her Wikipedia notable. Naik may be Wikipedia notable should you look at just Ranjan Naik’s paper “Intersection Graphs of linear hypergraphs”. In addition, as such, a famous mathematician Claude Berge cites Naik’s work in his well-known book on hypergraphs: Combinatorics of finite sets, Translated from the French, North-Holland Mathematical Library, 45. North-Holland Publishing Co., Amsterdam, 1989.
The work-in-process on the survey paper “Intersection Graphs of Graphs and Hypergraphs” from Researchgate.com may be an evidence that Ranjan Naik has been active in the field to some extent. I speculate that it could pick up substantial readings and references in the future. He is a 1952 born; I do not foresee any significant contributions of him on the horizon.
Having said all these, I do not know at this point whether I have to continue editing his page or submit for a deletion. However, I would like to ask you to see his numbers just on Intersection Graphs of Graphs and Hypergraphs qualify him for notability. It is better to delete it sooner rather than later.
