Athanasios Demetrios Maroulis on September 22 1964 in Brooklyn NY.

At the age of 19 Athan fronted the east coast goth band Fahrenheit 451. They had a small cult following and shared bills with White Zombie. They opened up for the Ramones in New York to not so happy White Zombie fans who threw beer cans at them. The band broke up in 1987 and the members went seprate ways.

After the break up of Fahrenheit Athan moved to Philadelphia were he fronted the Industrial band Executive Slacks. Executive Slacks lasted from 1987-1991.

In 1992 Athan started singing lead for Spahn Ranch. Spahn Ranch had an Industrial sound but eventually they became a more melodic group and evolved into goth. Spahn Ranch record for the Clepoatra Label and they had a long run until there split in 2000.

After the spilt with Spahn Ranch Athan became the lead singer of The Blue Dahlia. Blue Dahlia were a throwback to jazz and the jazz influence of the 1940's.

The Blue Dahlia, A Tribute to Frank Sinatra

Athan now has his own label Sepiatone records on the side, while helping his younger brother Constantine Maroulis of American Idol 4 with his career decisions.
