Welcome![edit]

Hello, AtlasANE, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Anthro New England, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, visit the Teahouse, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! In regards to Anthro New England's page and recent edits, this feedback from Drmies:
Hi there! I do understand these rules of Wikipedia. I am a member of ANE Staff - my username, AtlasANE (Atlas is my staff name) signifies this clearly - that was the intention.
I have made every intention to make unbiased and clear additions to the page for ANE - and the page followed the standards of other furry conventions on Wikipedia - see Midwest Furfest.
Drmies has made cuts to most all content on this event as a result of my latest additions to the page which I do feel are aggressive and reduce the information offered on this page. (See comments in revisions such as, 'is it' to the line mentioning that ANE is one of the largest furry conventions, with it being the ninth largest) AtlasANE (talk) 20:27, 10 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Because of your conflict of interest, you must stop making edits directly to the article. If you wish changes made, you must propose them on the article Talk page. If you continue to disrupt the article, you risk being blocked.--Bbb23 (talk) 20:53, 10 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, thank you for clarifying. AtlasANE (talk) 20:56, 10 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Bbb23 - I would like to confirm that I am blocked from directly editing the Anthro New England article due to being one of the staff members at said convention; regardless that I am making these edits on my own time, and of my own volition.
Is this correct? I wish to reconfirm as you said I must stop making direct edits, Drmies said I should consider to ensure edits are worked in.
Thank you! AtlasANE (talk) 22:13, 10 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Atlas, if you're getting conflicting messages from Drmies and me, just follow whatever Drmies says - he's better and smarter at this than I am.--Bbb23 (talk) 22:37, 10 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Drmies!
I've done as you requested and made edits to a userpage draft copy. I would like to hear your feedback, thank you.

Bbb23 is being silly--a rare moment. Atlas, I thought about your username and it seemed fine to me, but your edits were not. I don't understand all your comments, sorry. I did not block you, in general or from the article, and I did not revert your edits because you are associated with the club: I reverted you because that is not encyclopedic material, and I cut another part of the article for the same reason. We are not the organization's website (I didn't say your edits needed to be "worked in"), and that information was not of encyclopedic value. Thanks, Drmies (talk) 16:25, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Drmies - I completely understand, thank you for taking the time to clarify everything. AtlasANE (talk) 16:35, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sure thing. Here's my advice--and I am going to sound old fashioned--article writing should start with the sources (reliable, independent, secondary sources). Wikipedia writing is actually fundamentally boring: we are summmarizing what other have already said--that's the essence of Wikipedia as a tertiary source. So start by collecting that material. Good luck, Drmies (talk) 16:53, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
